    I am so happy that the surgery was a success for you! I am glad that you were able to get up and about if even for a short while. I hope that your pain meds help you out.

    Hopefully you will be yourself again very soon.

    Today has went really well for me. I was able to get in some walking and stairs at work, plus my 150 ounces of water, and I have eaten on plan all day. Tonight I have plans to do my normal 2 mile walk.

    I have joined the No Scale Challenge and plan to avoid the scale except on Monday mornings. I have a few things planned this weekend that should include some good exercise.

    I hope you feel better sooooooon!

        WTG on meeting your first mini goal! Sorry I am just now getting to check back in. I have had a lot of bleeding when I sit up so I have stayed in bed.

        I have only had soft things such as the soups hubby and I made and some fake mashed potatoes. I put myself out of ketosis though since I didnt eat but once a day from being very sick

        I am still very sore and in lots of pain but go in tomorrow to get the packing removed and hope that will help with the pain so that I can start to feel better...

        I still have another week before I can move around or do anything but I have started back eating today and started back on induction. I hope that will put me back into ketosis. I havent read that part of putting yourself back into ketosis so I need to research that this afternoon.

        I hope your having a great Monday! WTG again on the mini goal.

          awww! I hope you get to feeling better really soon. I would bet that you have lost weight only eating once a day...I'm sure Ketosis will kick right back in too.

            Hi Carrie,

            How are you today? I am back at work and feeling MUCH better since he removed the packing yesterday. I still cant do much until next Tuesday but finally getting back into my eating etc.

            I now I have to get myself back into Ketosis so I am back on induction and being strict again. Hopefully it wont take but a couple of days to get back on track. I am down to 146 today on the scale so I will take the 1 pound loss!!

              Glad to hear that you are felling better. You are getting closer to your next mini-goal. I am sure that ketosis will kick back in right away.

              I have been doing really well and staying on plan. My hubby's birthday was yesterday and I really wanted to eat the cake that I made for him...but I thought 24 pounds....if I eat that I will never get there!

              Anyway, I made a REALLY good dinner last night...

              For dinner last night I started off thinking I was going to stuff some chicken breast with cream cheese and spinach then wrap them in bacon and fry them in a skillet...it was a mess. So I changed it up at bit. I fried up some chips of bacon, took the bacon out of the skillet, seared chicken breast in the bacon grease, put them in a casserole dish, and topped them with a mixture of 12 ounces of cream cheese, spinach, chopped fresh parsley, chopped green onion, and the chips of bacon. I baked them for about 45 minutes to finish cooking the chicken....oh my heavens...soooo yummy! Since I coked 10 chicken breasts, each one had less than 2 ounces of cream cheese. I wanted to skip my breakfast this morning and go straight to leftovers.

              Anyway...I hope you are back to feeling great soon!

                That stuff chicken breast with cream cheese sounds yummy! I hate spinach but the rest sounds lke something I would like.

                I am feeling so much better today. Soreness is down and the bleeding is almost none exsistant so that is good. I still can not work out or do anything until after next Tuesday.

                Tell hubby happy belated bday. Mine is Monday and I am not sure what hubby is gonig to fix me. I told him to make me a nice Atkins friendly cheesecake so we will see if he really does it or not.

                I am just ready to start back loosing again. Hopefully by Friday I will be back in ketosis and then next week will start to get back into the exercise portion of it. Hubby has even slacked since I have not been exercising so time to kick his butt into gear too!!

                I still have my eye on those size 6's!

                  Hi carrie -

                  How is your Friday? Any big plans for the weekend?

                  I have started back on induction and itching to get back into exercise but know I cant so I am still just "resting" like the doctor ordered!! This weekend will be saturday resting at home watching football with the family all day and then Sunday is my mom and dad's 50th Wedding anniversary party and my bday party. That should be a lot of fun!!

                  Other than that not much going on here. I am going to try out a few new recipes that I did a search on today and see how I like em. Hubby had made me the fake mashed potatoes while I was out and I have to say I really liked em. I thought I would hate them but they actually were nice and yummy.

                  I am going to try to roast some jicama this weekend and there is this Taco bake that was listed on Linda's site that I really want to try. It was all induction friendly items and looked sooooooooo yummy so I think that will be on tap for Saturday night. We will see what I end up doing based on how I feel.

                  Anyways have a great Friday and weekend.

                    Sorry that I was away all weekend. Thursday afternoon I got a call from my toddler's preschool teacher...stomach flu...and it didn't end there. Everyone in my house had to catch it. YUCK! I hate hate hate throwing up....

                    Today is another week right...I am still not feeling 100% but better than last night. I was able to get a few things done this weekend and stayed on plan. I helped the girls pick out their pumpkins for carving yesteday . I love this time of year!

                    I am glad that you are feeling better and glad that you are back on plan. Have you started to notice the weight slipping away again? My scale still reads the same as last week, 174, but my pants feel looser. I hope that the scale catches up this week.

                    I love the faux potatoes too (cauliflower), but don't like the jicama. I have a problem with anything mexican tasting...I just can't stop eating it. I don't know what it is but I love it! When I was pregnant with my 22 month old I craved fajitas the whole time.

                    I made some really yummy homemade chicken soup this weekend. I used dice celery, onion, and parsley in the broth. Then I seperated it into two pots and added diced pumpkin to mine and rice to the rest of the families. The pumpkin took on the flavor of the broth and tasted like potatoe. I was really yummy...till the stomach flu hit...ugh! I don't think I will eat chicken soup for a while. Other than that my menu has been a little boring.

                    I think I am going to make my parmesan coated fried mushrooms tonight with some pork chops. I had a salad with slice roast beef and swiss cheese for lunch so I will go light on my veggies tonight.

                    If you do some digging and use some creativity...you can make most anything yummy eating the Atkins way.

                      Sorry you were sick! Hubby and my 2 year old have been sick all weekend so I feel your pain. I am starting to feel a LOT better with my nose. I get to start back on the exercise this week so I am actually going to go out today and get me a wii and wii fit plus with my birthday money my parents gave me. I have not noticed the scale move down this week but my inches have so that is a good thing. I think once I start exercising again it will kick back in high gear.

                      I am just ready to get towards my next mini goal and to be healthy again. I know I am getting there but darn it I want it right now! LOL Slow and steady right??

                      Tonight for dinner we are having stuff green peppers. They are so delicious and I have actually been craving them. Lunch was a salad with grilled chicken and breakfast was a quiche.

                      I must run but will write more tonight.

                        I know how you feel...we wish we could snap our fingers, blink once, and the new us will magically appear before our eyes...right! I won't say slow and steady but I will say...one Atkins bite at a time!

                          I got my wii fit plus last night and I am in love! Today is my exercise on it once the doctor clears me this afternoon. I am ready to get back to seeing the pounds go off.

                          I am finally back in ketosis so that is good news to hear. I just now have to really step up my water and get in more than I am. I am a big water slacker at times.

                          I am also going to look at joining some challenges - I think that will help me. Do you just sign up for one? How does that normally work.

                          How is your Tuesday shaping up? I think I am going to have hubby take some pics of me tonight and I will post them on here. I have some in the before and afters of my fat before's in a bathing suit and these should show good progress because I am down 23 pounds...


                          I just hate showing my fat self but I know we are all in the same boat and working towards the same goal.

                              I have joined the book reading challenge, the water challenge, the no scale challenge (which I gave up on cause I am an addict), and pledged in the flight challenge (stair climbing).

                              You just commit to what the challenge is then post in the thread what you have accomplished each day.

                              It is cold here today since we had our first freeze. Other than that it is a pretty day, especially since the mountain tops are covered with snow.

                              I HATE my scale right at the moment. I teeter up and down and seem to lose the same 2 pounds ten times. I am back at 176 this morning. UGH! I really am starting to think that I am going to have a REALLY low CCLL. When I get in all my veggies there are many times that I don't lose. I am going to be really restrictive for the next week and see if I get the 2 pounds off and maybe 2 more...UGH!

                              The only thing that I eat on a regular basis that can be a staller is cheese. I don't eat it everyday, and usually only eat 1-2 ounces. So if being restrictive doesn't work for me then I will drop the cheese for a week and see what happens. Until I start seeing some progress again, I don't want to leave Induction. I am going to test these things out and if they don't work then I will move on to OWL.

                              I know what you mean about pictures. My worst picture was when I was pregnant. I don't know how I let myself gain that much weight. I look like a pig...but I will never be that big again. I just wish I could get down to the next weight rung.

                              Anyway...I am going to step back up my exercise this week. Since it is cold outside I may do most of it indoors at work. I go up to the next floor and walk across to the other side of the building to get water every hour to hour and a half. I have to meet my flights challenge.

                                Step up the water drinking, be strict with your foods and really step up the exercise. I bet you might be surprised at the end of the week.

                                I am back to being strict again and I am also ready to see some MORE weight come off - it is like I am just stuck.

                                We can do it and will get there. I am going to go search some more challenges to join. I am hoping there is a wii fit one because that is my exercise right now.
