  • Two week induction complete :-(

OK, So I just finished the first two weeks. I'm a bit upset that the total lost was only 5Lbs. I have done this before and lost 12Lbs during induction. So where did I go wrong?
I have been eating a bag of Bar-b-q pork rinds at night (too much salt)
I have had a couple of salads that I was not sure of the dressing and it's carb contents.
I have been on the treadmill at least 4 times per week.
I have not been drinking enough water.

I will stay on induction until I see some more weight loss. I guess 5 down is better than 5 up. Should be a battle this week with Thanksgiving. Wish us all luck.

Being upset isn't productive ... neither is comparing now to then.

    >> I have been eating a bag of Bar-b-q pork rinds at night (too much salt)>>

Did you read the list of ingredients? Most flavored pork rinds have sugar in them.

And you're disappointed in 5 pounds why?

Like you said a 5 pound loss is better than no change or a 5 pound gain!
If you kept on at that rate by end of 1 year toy would be down about 60 pounds, if you even have that much to lose!!

Each time you lose differently and as we age it gets slower. Thats the reality. But 5 pounds is 5 pounds. My last induction netted 3. Its all relative.

It depends how much you have to lose. Also, as J said, you can't compare to how you did before. I lost 6 lbs on induction. You have to look at it in perspective. Pick up something that weighs 5lbs. Someone said to me...you lost a bag of flour!
Have you measured yourself? You may be losing more inches than you realize. If you haven't measured...do it now so you can compare down the road. It helps.
You seem to know where you could be doing better. More water, less snacks. If you are having salads out...can you bring your own dressing?
Just some ideas. Keep your chin up and keep trying. There is help here for you.
              Take care,
              Jane

oh! Cheer up! You are doing great! You lost the weight, recognized your " mistakes" and it seems you are dealing positively with the related feelings. What can be better? You`re learning to deal with your eating habits! So don`t be disappointed!

I'm amazed that no one else pointed out how hugely calorie dense a bag of pork rinds is! You can get away with eating a couple of ounces of them a day, but a bag is a *lot* of calories to put away. 1/2oz of pork rinds is about 80 calories. A two ounce bag then is 320, and if the bag is 4 or 6oz?! In all the BBQ ones I just looked up, the 2nd or 3rd ingredient in them is sugar, as well.

Atkins said we don't have to count calories, but that doesn't mean calories don't count. You've been eating them as a snack and still lost 5lbs- not bad at all, if you ask me!!

As others said, it's different every time we do it too. Small things can make a huge difference.

Congratulations to you for your success so far!!! Keep on keepin' on!
