  • Hot drink for induction phase?

Can anyone recommend a hot drink that's induction legal?

I really don't like hot water that much, just something to warm me up on the cold days! lol

    Thanks

You can have tea ... even decaf. Or coffee.

Just count the carbs ... and drink an extra glass of water for every cup.

      Using cream instead of milk?

        Yes.

Remember the limit of cream is 2-3 tablespoons per day.

I have a no-sugar instant hot chocolate I drink occasionally. It has about 3 carbs per packet, but hits the spot.

For something savory, rather than sweet, try chicken broth with a dash of hot pepper sauce.

              >>hot chocolate>>

Chocolate isn't an Induction food, though.

As a treat I make cocoa, not often. There was a big debate on this forum a few years ago if cocoa was legal, the powdered form. Some said that it was a spice and hence legal, others say no way. You mix the cocoa (unsweetened) with some splenda, heavy cream and water and heat. It is very good. Don't use more than a tablespoon though and see if it causes cravings.
I like Megs idea of chicken broth. That sounds comforting. Beef or even veggie would work also.
Water is really your best bet, lots and lots of water. You can put one slice of cucumber into it for a great 'green' flavor.

atkinsgal08, obviously being a sugar-free variety of the drink, there really is no chocolate. The chocolate taste comes from cocoa powder.

I've done the warm chicken broth with spices as well. Very satisfying.

But cocoa powder IS chocolate. It all comes from the cacao bean.

Whether it has sugar in it or not is irrelevant to whether it is chocolate ...

The argument that cocoa powder is a spice was better

Cocoa isn't allowed on Induction though.

Hahaha. I disagree. I see chocolate as a dish that has cocoa powder in it.

                          Thanks.

Whether it's a spice, not a spice, chocolate, not chocolate, or whatever, I drink it when I have the urge to drink a big, creamy, sugary Starbucks. Whether or not it's "legal," it's an excellent substitute for its carb-loaded alternative.

                            Can't argue with that.

Maybe OWL would help with the addition of more "legal" foods?

Of course it's your choice what you drink but the original question asked for suggestions of hot drinks that are induction legal.

So if you post something like that, and nobody challenges it, he/she is going to think your suggestion was induction legal. That's the problem
