Thanks for all of your support in my previous post about falling off the wagon. I am a problem solver by nature, so I am trying to solve this "feeling like crap" thing.
In the three weeks that I have been more liberal with my carb/sugar intake, I have noticed several dramatic changes:
1) I am fatigued all the time; I can hardly make it past 9:00 p.m. almost every night
2) I put on weight quickly and easily
3) "The" drive is non existent
4) I cramp very easily while lifting weights
5) I feel depressed most of the time
These are symptoms of gluten intolerance. I know there are varying degrees of severity, but I am thinking that I should get checked.
Does anyone reading this have experience with gluten intolerance. Going on Atkins means eliminating gluten, so my hypothesis is that the negative changes are the result of re-introducing carbs into my diet. And, yes, I have had these symptoms throughout my life, and I spent most of my adult life consuming carbs regularly.
