  • Stomach Flu HELP

I have had the stomach flu for the last two days. I can't drink, can only take in crushed ice. I ate a half of a piece of low carb bread today. My family keeps trying to get me to eat rice and potatoes which is what you do right? I have worked to hard to get where I am to blow it now!! What can I eat to soothe my stomach that will be bland? Thanks y'all

    Re: Stomach Flu HELP

I got the 24 hr flu last Tuesday, maybe the 36 hr.

I had no one to help me out, kids are out, spouse travels, and I could only drink water for most of the day. About midnight I had 2 saltines. About 2 am I opened a can of soup, heated it, ate 1/2 can, avoided most noodles, and finished the other 1/2 the next morning. It is not really on plan, but that was the best I could do. Couldn't eat anything heavier and even if I could, I was too weak and
nauseous to cook. That was the only non Atkins stuff I had, and the soup really made me feel 95% better.
After 1 1/2 days I started eating light Atkins meals for about 2 days All legal, just not a lot. We always have "Homestyle" Campbells Chicken soup around just for when someone gets sick.
It is a required get better food, almost a tradition...LOL.

Hope you feel better quickly. I snapped right back by thursday as far as energy. Just couldn't eat a full menu until about Saturday.

What about some clear broth like chicken. That would get some nutrients in you without upsetting your stomach too much hopefully. I would not go with high starches. I never had luck keeping them down when sick.

If you have some cooked meat and veg you could puréé them till really fine then add cream and water to make a soup with the same nutrition as if you had eaten the food!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
