Re: Cheese please! But how much is too much?

I'm eating pure meat. Roast chicken, steak, Chicken skewers that I make myself. Breakfast I always have eggs - most of the time only white. I sometimes have pre made beef burgers or salmon burgers with a little mustard for dipping sauce. I am very stict with myself and I have a amazing will power. I will not give in.

My treats in between meals is Laughing Cow soft cheese.
Or I microwave shredded cheese (only 1 gram on the pkg) and eat that as a treat.
i did lots of water and occasionally will have lettuce and cucumbers with legal ranch dressing sauce but the weight hasn't dropped yet.

I was eating 15 nuts a day but I have stop since I heard it's not allowed. I haven't lost inches yet. Maybe it will take some time.

Why only eating the egg whites? Atkins is high fat, you need the healthy fat in the eggs as part of your plan. If you try to go low carb and low fat for atkins it won't work. Don't go spooning lard into your mouth (which I swear some people think atkins dieters do) but work some healthy fats into your meals.

        >>I sometimes have pre made beef burgers or salmon burgers>>

        What's the list of ingredients?

        >>ccasionally will have lettuce and cucumbers>>

Exactly how much in Induction vegetables are you eating?

        >> I was eating 15 nuts a day but I have stop since I heard it's not allowed.>>

Are you reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002)?

If you buy pre grated cheese it may have starches in it.

Re: Cheese please! But how much is too much?

Thanks everyone for clearing this up! I have cut down on the shredded cheese. I reread DADR (2002) book again this morning and realized I was eating the wrong cheese. Level 1 doesn't allow cheese spreads. I was have "Laughing Cow" soft cheese - 2 a day. And I did have cashews 2 days in the week! Atkins says this is a "no-no food" which means it should be cut out from our vocabulary and life like white bread. Yikes!

I'm hoping I can drop 8-10 this week being ver strict with myself. Let's see!

I love all the support I get from all of you!

Atkinsgal thanks for clearing up the confusion!

Do you mean another 8-10 this week on top of the 7 you already lost in induction? While anything possible I don't see that happening at the weight you are. I'd hate to see you disappointed if the #'s don't match your high expectations.

If you mean another 1-3lbs including the 7 you lost that is more reasonable but again may not happen. Good luck.

I'm still hoping! I work out everyday which helps! I have to get fit for the summer...it's so tough being heavy when it's hot out.

Women lose at the statistical rate of 1/2 to 1 pound per week.

With how much you have to lose, I don't see your "hope" as being realistic.

                        However, you can lose.

I do always say if you are going to dream, dream big. So as long as you won't be disappointed in a lower result it wont' hurt to set high goals.

I agree it's miserable being fat when it's hot. Especially on vacations or when you are out moving a lot. Hope we both have a more comfortable summer.

                            They're not allowed on Induction.

Dr. Atkins didn't forbid them forever.

Atkinsgal is right, though we do have to add cashews in 1/2 ounce portions rather than the usual one ounce nut servings when we reach the nuts/seeds rung of OWL they are not forbidden for ever
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
