  • Oops!

No need to respond to this post. I know where I went wrong and I don't need any encouragement to get me going again. I just like to place these things on the page, because it mentally really helps me stay on track and I was hoping others could benefit from shared experiences. We all know how confessions help us let things go.

If you feel I was wrong in placing this post...."On my honor, may I be chopped up and place into soup" Nemo reference for those parents out there

Well, I was stuck inside for 7 days trapped by three feet of snow and I messed up for the first time! Shoveled all day Tuesday and forgot to eat breakfast or lunch and when i walked inside, I was confronted by the most decadent HOT chocolate souffle! I ate a huge portion and I got really annoyed. Immeditely I walked downstairs and jumped on the treadmill for an hour. I know physically the sugar was still in my system, but psychologically it got me back on the wagon and ready for the road ahead. My weight loss has stalled because of it, but choices and consequences come hand-in-hand. I will keep moving forward and not worry about it! I won't forget to eat again though!

This is the first time in my life that I have messed up on a diet and kept right on trucking instead of taking the rest of the day, month or year off before restarting. That says something about me and my willingness to continue.

    Onward Soldiers!

Thanks, my comments were a little self-complimenting, but we all need that every now and again. Thanks 2little4yoursize

        Re: Oops!

your welcome. as long as you learn something positive that will help you continue toward being a healthy atkinseer at goal weight then even the worse binge can be a good thing. now if you post next week I knew I'd restart immediately so I ate 50 million carbs of cake at a partry and washed it down witll real soda.... then we have a real problem cause you learned the wrong thing

No, it felt horrible to jump off of the wagon.......Mentally and Physically! I had the worst stomach cramps. I would like to say that it was not worth it, but it was never a calculated decision to "cheat" it was more like I was "drunk eating" because I was so hungry.

It's the best attitude, to brush off and hop back on the horse once thrown off. Keep on truckin'

                    Re: Oops!

I think your experience is exactly why Dr. Atkins said never go more that 6 hours without eating something. If all the exercise and no food caused an insulin spike, your body will DEMAND you do something about it. It seems to me to be a protective mechanism to keep too much insulin from causing damage. Kudos for treating it as a blip on the radar and learning the lessons offered.
