  • Benefibre

Hi all, I'm starting over....AGAIN.....just wondering if Benefibre is ok during induction? 1 rounded teaspoon (3.2g) has 10 calories, 0g fat, 3g carbs, 3g fibre, 0g protien. Recommends 2 teaspoons which is 24% of the daily fibre value. So.......will I start taking it.....I have a hard time getting enough fibre....Thanks!

    Re: Benefibre

Why are you having trouble getting fiber? Are you eating the full amount of vegetables?

I'm having a hard time with veggies.....I have no imagination to make them appealing to eat.....I like most of them but don't know how to make "side dishes" out of them, and I end up just eating meat!

I love meat, cheese, eggs......all the proteins.....Just couldn't care less about a salad or sides......I've never been a big veggie or fruit eater.....just the starchy pasta, potato, corn sides......that's why I can't seem to get enough fibre.

Did you look up some recipes? Linda's web page has many.

Well, that clearly didn't work, so it's something you need to change. Substituting veggies with Benefiber is not a solution in the long term... not to say it's not nutritionally sound.

What's your planned menu for today? Did you plan to eat vegetables?

Oh, and to answer your question, Benefiber is fine to take. It's just not a substitute for vegetables.

Hi, I'm not trying to substitute veggies with benefibre, just supplement.....as I probably don't get enough fibre from veggies. I just wanted to make sure that I could take the benefibre before I took it and ruined induction

Like Georgiana said, remember your veggies. I get 25-35 g of fiber from veggies but I will supplement with Benefiber when I'm on the lower end of my fiber. You should be fine. =)

Try celery or jicama. Jicama is delicious.

too much fiber hurts my gut thats why when ever i eat broccoli i cut most of the stems off and just eat the top flower parts

even the fiber in almonds can get too high for me if i eat to many

but i do like eating some fiber just not to much. fiber seems to be different for everyone some people like eating lots especially if they ever get constipation which i never get

but i wouldn't listen to the RDA intake of fiber i would just eat as much as your body feels comfortable with
