  • Weight fluctuation and nuts

I am currently puzzled about how and when I am losing weight; I had a bad week last week-I drank 4 pints of beer and ate an aircraft meal that included pasta. I always weigh myself when I get up Friday mornings after normal toilet routine. Much to my horror I had put on 1.1KG. The next morning I weigh myself and that 1.1Kg was gone-how does that happen? It is true that during the day on Friday I ate 30g of nuts and now I can feel things are different and I am a frequent visitor to the toilet for number twos. Has anyone else experienced this and how is this weight fluctuation explained?

Could it be the salt in the nuts causing water retention?

When we eat high carbs we retain water. Normal stuff. So if I eat pasta I will probably be 5lbs heavier the next day but it is water in the cells that will flush out once the body is not getting many carbs.

Many thanks and that makes sense. That particular week I drank 4 pints of beer and I know that slows weight loss, add not going to the gym and the rest is obvious.
