    Re: Candida diet, not losing....

It is Joseph's sugar free peanut butter from Carbsmart.com ( Dairy free )
    I had 1tbsp today.
Ingredients: All natural roasted valencia peanuts
Serv Size 2 tbsp Cal 200
    Total fat 15g
    Total Carb 6g
    Sugar <1g
    Fiber 1g
    Protein 9g

1 tbsp Ground flax seed mixed w/whey protein isolate and 1 tbsp heavy whipping cream
Ground Flax seed 1 tbsp Carb 3g Fiber 2g Sugar 0 Sugar alcohol 0

I have not been formally diagnosed with Candida; I was lost, i did the candida diet "just in case" because i was not losing weight; but thanks to your support and recommendations i am now trying a different approach...

I have read before that daily calories where supposed to be:
    65% from fats
    30% from protein
    5% from carbs
That is why i mentioned the percentages from Fitday

    Fitday shows from vegetables:
    onions 2.8
    peppers 1.8
    tomatoes 1.1
    cabbage 5.5
    cucumber 2.6
The rest are from eggs, peanut butter, whey protein, cheese cream

Fitday lists some foods differently, for instance, there are many options for peanut butter but the closest one has a lot different nutrition label, also the whey protein isolate powder is shown like "chocolate", with potassium, yellow onions are shown only "sauteed", etc...

      Re: Candida diet, not losing....

It is possible to post a link to your fiday account so others cn helpmyou with which options to choose from their listings.
To do this go to your profile tab on fitday and scroll down to the 'make my journal public' button then click on it to be given a link you can paste into yuor post or your signature here. It will finish something like 'owner=yourname'

If your label info is different from the fitday version I would make a custom entry from it so you are listing the actual numbers for your particular brand rather than fitday's 'generic' entry, which can be very different as you have found.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

This would be fine in OWL Rung 3, assuming you are not having any yeast issues... but for now, since you're in OWL Rung 1, leave it in the fridge and have some vegetables instead.

By the way, what are the ingredients in the peanut butter?

Ground Flax seed 1 tbsp Carb 3g Fiber 2g Sugar 0 Sugar alcohol 0
Where are you taking those numbers from?

USDA lists 2.97 g carbohydrate and 2.8 g dietary fiber for one tablespoon of ground flax seeds. So one tablespoon does not have 1 net carb, but only 0.17.

I have not been formally diagnosed with Candida; I was lost, i did the candida diet "just in case" because i was not losing weight; but thanks to your support and recommendations i am now trying a different approach...
        Thanks for clarifying this.

Still... wait with the nuts. If you are following the 2002 plan, they only come later in OWL.

I have read before that daily calories where supposed to be:

I know why you mentioned them... I was only pointing out that net carbs are waaaay more important... and, unfortunately, many people put too much price on percentages. For example, regardless of the percentages, you could be undereating net carbs or consuming hidden carbs or not counting your carbs correctly... all of which could interfere with weight loss.

        The rest are from eggs
Did you enter the eggs raw in FitDay?

        whey protein
What are the ingredients in this?

Fitday lists some foods differently, for instance, there are many options for peanut butter but the closest one has a lot different nutrition label
You won't need to worry about peanut butter for a while... but if the nutritional info is very different, then it might be better to create a custom entry, keeping in mind that the numbers are rounded. One gram, plus or minus, of fat isn't a big deal... but carbs are more important. So, if the label says 0 g carbohydrate, the product could have as much as 0.49 g carbohydrate. If the label says <1 g carbohydrate, the product could have as much as 0.99 g.

yellow onions are shown only "sauteed", etc...
It's more accurate to enter your vegetables raw... as you probably knew already.

For yellow onions, use the entry for "onion, mature, raw".

          Georgiana
2 tablespoons of peanut butter weigh about 30-35 grams. It would seem really odd to me if 24 of these were carbs.
You're right Georgiana- I was at work and the 2 TBSP is the serving size but the conversion for google site where you type in 60grams equals how many tablespoons? It said 2. But 60 grams is 4 tablespoons ~ 2 servings.

But originally my point was, that Nuts are not until Rung 3 of the ladder and she is still in the induction phase, so hence the slow down potential for her weight loss as I saw it.

I shouldn't have posted while I was at work without all my resources available before I put in statics! Thanks for catching my error.

            Oops!

I just noticed you mentioned the ingredients in your first post.

I had a quick peek at your fitday account for the last couple of days and it lookes fine to me.
Just make sure you check out the actual ingredients of the McDonalds scrambled egg - they have a website csalled 'Bag-a-meal' where you can do this for al their menu items,
                McDonald’s USA - Nutrition Info
Click on the name of the item to get the list of ingredients

You can also strip out any parts of say a Big Mac to see what the nutrition numbers would be if you don't eat the bun, sauce, cheese also, to help decide what to order.
