Donate them, don't keep them. You don't want big clothes there as an "escape hatch". Uncomfortably tight pants are a good incentive to lose weight.

dontate them to a charity so if you ever do jump off the wagon regaining will cost you money. it is too easy to just get out the old fatter clothes if they are in the closet still. When you got to buy bigger sizes it forces you to make a decision about are you going to work on losing that weight or buy bigger clothes.

Re: As you grow out of clothes...

Before making my new Lifestyle Change, I couldn't bring myself to buy larger clothes. It killed me to do so. So, I went thrift store shopping!

Now, going through my closet isn't such a task! The "Fat" clothes are secondhand anyway and will be [basically] going back where they came from. Happily, I am currently fitting into the same store-bought clothes I had before!

My new goal is to donate these current clothes and buy new, cute, smaller clothes! I can't wait!!!

Re: As you grow out of clothes...

I have been donating things. It goes to a good cause and I just have to clear space in my closet/attic. I really don't want my old clothes around making it easy for me to gain.

Now, getting rid of my size 18/XL/1X was easy to do and most of that I had owned for a long time. Its harder getting rid of clothes that I feel like I just bought. I do feel good that I am helping others though by donating them.

I like the ideas that Carne suggested too. Cute ideas...but even after losing weight, I am not that thin! lol

Re: As you grow out of clothes...

I have done like Rebekka in reverse! I have donated my too big clothes to charity shops and at the same time have bought smaller sizes from them too.
And in the same way that I have given away unworn clothes to them I have found some awesome never worn or worn once only great bargains!

I have kept one dress - the one in my 'before' photo which now and again I try on for a laugh! It is about a foot longer than it used to be!! It was my one and only 'looks smart' dress that I wore for many years at family get-togethers and when going to a dressy 'do', so it has some history for me.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I also kept only one pair of my biggest jeans. Everthing else went to friends or to charity. I have also been shopping at thrift stores for my "in-between" sizes...I promise to buy "new" when I reach goal

I've been donating to Goodwill and/or giving things away to friends and co-workers...there are several of us in a motivational weight-loss group together (although I am the only one on Atkins), so there's always someone who can use something

I will ONLY weigh once per week! I will refer to DANDR 2002 and this forum when I have questions. I will revel in new recipes, new clothes, and the new feeling of being happy in my skin. I will hold myself accountable to do this the right way, without excuses, because I know that Atkins is the best thing for my health and happiness. I. Will. Succeed!

That must be great having a group of you losing together As long as nobody is on a 'cookies and cakes diet' so keeps bringing in her 'diet treats' for you

As a small thread hi-jack, Stephanie, I noticed from your stats that you have crossed into Onederland

Another thought....if you are handy with a sewing machine (or know someone who is), you might be able to re-fit your big clothes as you shrink, so you won't have to keep buying new ones.

I didn't start sewing until I lost most of my weight and refused to pay $40 for a skirt(a tube of cloth hemmed up at one end and with a band of elastic at the other).
