Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

        >> I use dressing from the company my ex works for because its free.>>

Whether or not it's free, is it Atkins friendly? If it has sugar, the "cost" to you is a lot more than "free" is worth.

You should have more variety of vegetables. 2 cups of spinach, as you see, is hardly any net carbs. You only have 12 net carbs for the day ... which isn't nutritionally sound ... the closer you are to 20 net, with MOST of them from Induction vegetables ... well, the better you're likely to do.

            Hi SpringTowry
I finally got into your fitday to take a peek. (Thanks again Mizski :hug)

One way you could add some more calories would be maybe to cook the spinach with some butter and add some cream to it to make creamed spinach if you are eating it raw at present. I know it will make a much smaller portion, but will add to your nutrition numbers.

And (nothing to do with upping calories) do make sure you look at the ingredients in the grated cheese if you are buying the pre-grated stuff and not grating it yourself from block cheese.
Most manufacturers add starch of some kind to their grated cheese to stop it sticking, and depending on whether it is potato starch or starch from rice or other grains it would not be 'induction-friendly'.

2 gallons of water can be too much if you suddenly up your intake that high, there is such a thing as too much water. But in your case this is what your body is use to, you said that's what you've always had so it shouldn't be causing you any problems now. If you are concerned go to the Dr. and have them do a blood panel and check all your stats. Make sure you aren't flushing out your nutrients, salt etc.

                Hi-- I have 2 comments:

1)Drinking a lot of water can be a symptom of diabetes. Have you ever been tested for diabetes? (I'm not a doctor or anything, but the thought crossed my mind. )

                2) To get more calories you are probably going to have to eat more fat. Besides putting butter on everything, you can also use olive oil on your salads. I use olive oil and salt. Also it might help to eat some oily fish like salmon.

Re: I have a lot of issues....

I have been tested for diabetes. I do not have it. The water thing does not concern me it was a comment from another poster that concerned me. I have drank that much since I was around 12.

I do eat more veggi's than that, at times that was only an example of about 3 days a week.

I am confused again, I was told I should go to OWL, then many people responding said I should make sure things I eat are induction friendly. I have been in induction mode since 10/01/09, do I not move to OWL? Do I stay in induction??

I do know how to restrict carbs, it just seems the tools I lack are adding them. I need help please, I am just getting more confused. I feel I will never reach my goal now, my loss has gone down to only around 5 pounds a month. This is not good enough for me.

I do work out almost every day of the week, so I don't need any tips on that. If I a a lost cause I apologize and will quit posting here.

I will see if I need a new goal after that one
                  25 pounds to go!
                  I love my water!

Re: I have a lot of issues....

People are responding about induction friendly foods because your still in extended inductions according to your info. So if they look at that they will give advice based on induction.

Wether you move on is 100% up to you. Take the quizz in the book and decide. I stayed on induction until I felt like I had a good handle on the plan and was ready to move on. If you are ready go for it. Rung one is only 5 more grams of veggies, nothing scary there. The book gives lots of examples of what 5 veggie grams can be.

My loss had slowed way down when I moved onto owl it picked up again. Then it slowed again this month and pretty much stalled for about 2-3 weeks in fact I went up 2lbs, that finally came off and it seems to be moving again. You have to take the highs with the lows. It wont' always be amazing losses every week.
