Thanks for all your advice. I have the DANR book but I have the NEW revised and updated one. Should I follow that one? I also don't think this is a physical condition because I only started feeling like this (SLUGGISH) after 2 or 3 weeks into this diet. I NEVER felt like this before.

just reading here helps me so much.. I too am just beginning... 4 weeks. 11 pounds.. I'll take that...

I'll be so glad when I have 4 weeks under my belt...

I feel tired NOW.. (carrying around 60 extra pounds can do that to a person)

Do you think I can add nuts and strawberries into my diet?

Are you still on induction I assume? If you are, then NO NUTS. Nuts are notorious for stalling weight loss. They are calorically dense (high calorie) and hard to control. Ever know anyone who could stop with 1 oz of nuts? They are few and far between and IMO, eating nuts should be few and far between ... perhaps putting it off until premaintenance.

If you've moved into OWL, then berries are allowed per DANDR .. time to re-read!

Personally (and I mean for me) I was sluggish 2 months into this WOE. I figured my body was very resisitant to using fat as a fuel source. The only remedy that worked for me was to increase the frequency and intensity of my workout. It was like I was telling my body, "You're going to use fat as a fuel source AND YOU'RE GOING TO LIKE IT!"

It was tough going at first, but I'm back to peak performance now.

I was sluggish at the beginning, but it only lasted a week or two.. Maybe if you have been doing induction for 4 weeks, and are having a harder time with food choices, you should consider moving to OWL. Summer is a great time to be eating some berries..

there's another thing I'm going to have to focus on.... exercise even when I don't feel like it.. don't want to...

I know it, it's harder to DO!

Oh I'm SO glad to hear that others felt this way too. I was ALMOST going to give up. I mean that is how sluggish I'm feeling and I don't like it at all. Workouts are SO hard. I'm exhausted after. I have to say that I did weights yesterday and for some reason all of a sudden I felt better. But then I went back to feeling tired. I'm going in and out of that feeling so MAYBE my body is FINALLY adjusting and I will stop feeling like this. I want to start eating some berries so maybe I will move onto OWL. I'll have to read up on what the difference between induction and OWL is though! I have A.D.D. and it's TOO MUCH to take in but I'll see what I can find on this message board. THANKS for ALL YOUR HELP!
