    Re: Anyone take suppliments?

I take a multi vitamin without iron every day and a vitamin B & C complex every other day.

I've noticed that I am always under RDA for potassium unless I eat excessive amounts of tomato. Was thinking of taking a potassium supplement but I can't seem to find any. Does anyone else take these?

I haven't taken any chromium or any of the other ones meant to help with cravings because I haven't had much in the way of cravings. I may take these in the future if I feel I need them.

          Hmmm...yeah I do.

Estroven (peri-menopausal and can't live without this stuff)
          biotin
          fish oil
          cranberry
probiotics (for warding off yeast issues)

          That's about it.

I take New Chapter Organics Every Woman's One Daily Multi-vitamin, an Omega-3, Calcium+D, and I take and herbal supplement at night called Melissa Leaves to help me fall asleep.

                Re: Anyone take supplements?

Can anyone give me the name of a good potassium supplement? Sometimes I get a spell where my eye twitches. I used to be able to solve this by eating a banana or two, but obviously that's no doable. I don't like tomatoes, so those are out also.

I use Sundown products. Make sure you purchase a multi vitamin with potassium in it and then you can buy an additional supplement.

Can you buy potassium over the counter? I know a lot of people take them by prescription, not sure if they're on the shelves or not? Guess I've never really looked for it.

Yes, they are an OTC supplement.

However, you get a lot more by eating an avocado!

Just tried an avocado a few minutes ago and I had to spit it out, lol. Stupid taste buds.

I just wanna say that I remember to take my vitamins everyday when I see this thread, so please keep it at the top of the que......

On topic, I have had a tough time meeting my Potassium levels without Avocados. My doctor is not willing to give me a prescription just because I am on Atkins and the OTC supplements are so darn low in Potassium.

So I ordered some more suppliments from GNC.... Choline & Inositol caps and Biotin. I'm hoping the Biotin works for thickening up my hair too. My hair has gotten extremely thin over the past year or two... hormonal from babies & breastfeeding (I hope). I've read where the Biotin helps. Fingers crossed!

most people that take an rx of potassium have a heart related condition, fyi. that is why the otc amount is so low.

Yeah, that is what the doc said, but in my situation it is healthy to take Px K (that is the symbol for Potassium right ) since my diet does not provide it.
