Sorry I havn't checked in but Here is the update. I,ve been in Phase I for 8 weeks now, went on a short trip and fell out of Ketosis but back in now. So far I have lost 38#, down from 322 to 284. I'm 6'5" and I feel pretty good. The weight seems to hover and then just drops every couple of days. My wife and are both in Phase I. See has lost 12#. The only difficulty is that food seems to be boring and nothing sounds good except for the $$$ stuff. Shrimp, Lobster, Prime Rib, etc. I don't know how long I can eat bacon, Sausage, Eggs..... I can't believe I said that, WOW. I don't like to spend a lot of time in food prep, I like it simple. I do enjoy Pizza toppings and Arby's roast beef with Au Jus.

Alan, have you and your wife checked out Linda Sue's recipes? LOTS of great ideas. There are also menu suggestions too.
Congrats on both of your weight losses!

Re: OK, Here it is:
Congratulations on your losses
I know there used to be a saying 'Real men don't eat quiche' but a crustless quiche doesnt take long to prepare and cooks on its own in the oven, so isn't much in the way of work to make.
Crustless quiches can be stuffed with plenty of bacon and veggies like mushrooms etc to help get those veggies in, and can be eaten hot or cold as a meal or as a 'to go snack'!
I often make them at the weekend so I have' easy to grab food' when too busy to cook.
You can make 'legal' individual pizzas by using a large flat mushroom as a base and piling your toppings on, or use one of the many flax muffin recipes but make a large flat circle to use as a pizza base.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Congrats on the pounds lost so far!
Don't forget that avocado does not count as a vegetable. It's a Special Category food, and it's limited to 1/2 a small one per day.
Did you eat something you shouldn't have eaten or did the sticks just not turn pink?went on a short trip and fell out of Ketosis but back in now"Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: OK, Here it is:
Not sure, went out and had hoseradish sauce, salad dressing and veggies. May have knocked me out of Ketosis. Anyway I'm new at this forum chat stuff. I assume that "S" is start weight, "G" is goal weight, what does "C" represent? Also, if I am under 20 carbs/day every day and no added sugars (just natural) is it possible to fall out of Ketosis? Thanks, Alan

C = Current.

You shouldn't be "under" 20 carbs every day ... at least by much.
Also, relying on the sticks isn't a good idea. They're not that reliable.J.

Do you know what were the ingredients in the sauce and dressing? There could have been sugar there.Originally posted by Alan104 View Postwent out and had hoseradish sauce, salad dressing
I agree with J. that you shouldn't rely on Ketostix. You can be in ketosis without changing their color."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: OK, Here it is:
Thanks, I meant "at 20 carbs/day" I'm not under and the sticks do seem to be hit or miss. Seems like my wife and I both go two to four days with not weight loss and then all of a sudden loose 2 or 3 lbs in 1 day. Why is that? Also, is it important to take measurements and track them? Thanks, AlanOriginally posted by atkinsgal08 View PostC = Current.

Because that's just what happens.
It's the pattern YOUR body has.

Only if it matters to you.J.

For me it was about feeling comfortable in my own skin. For feeling comfortable in clothes.
It was never about a number on the scale.J.
