Re: Just on a soapbox for a moment!

I also get the " oh you know he died of a heart attack for eating all those bad carbs" I wonder if people read the actual news or just repeat what others have said without checking its validity.
    highest 230 ---- started atkins------current 175 lbs
    July 2009 ---------12/20/2009 ---------03/18/2010

I started atkins in late november but every other week just sort of fell off the wagon and was not working out..late december I started to really follow it and added the gym from november to december I only lost like 7 lbs not following it right..from december to march 18 I lost 50 lbs give or take depending what mood my scale is on lol.

Re: Just on a soapbox for a moment!

Gotta be a bit of a party pooper to the WW bashers. Just like this program it works if you work it properly. You can eat unhealthy here too, most of us just have enough sense not to, just like most WW members dont' use their points for twizzlers and beer, eat crappy food etc. Sorry just hate to see another program get bashed repeatedly (not specifically this post) when it does work, just like I hate to see Atkins bashed on their boards when it works too. You can be sucessful on either and it's not a competition or a pissing contest. It's about living a healthier life. How you chose to get there is up to you.

Now that being said the dolts that mouth off with no clue about how "unhealthy" Atkins is are just showing their ignorance. I rarely tell anyone I'm doint Atkins, not because I 'm ashamed of it but because really it's not their business. I am not doing it for them. I am doing it for me. But I do hear comments from family members and in laws from time to time. I usually give them a quick run down of my food that day or the day before and ask them what exactly was unhealthy about what I ate? Of course they can't come up with anything.

And, how dare you eat vegetables. You are on Atkins. You are supposed to show off your inner caveman carnivore by standing up high on your desk eating the internal organs of a goat with your bare hands, necktie tied around your head and warrior striped hunter facepaint. After you've finished a portion that would put most family's protein ingestion for a week to shame, you're smear your hands and face with lard and slowly lick it clean.

i know quite a few people that have a lost a lot of weight on weight watchers.
i personally didn't fair well. i was STARVING all the time.

and i have to add.. those lean cuisines are such crap. they have no nutrients whatsoever. we have a skinny little guy in the office that eats them almost every day. same dude gets mcdonalds about 1.5 hours later.

i think he has a tape worm.

                ROFL!

My gosh, I don't get what people must think Atkins is. It flabbergasts me when people say things like, "Well you be careful on Atkins...my brother's wife's neighbor's best friend's uncle's neice got XYZ condition after doing Atkins..."

                Pssh.

Eat your veggies and look great doing it, Miller, and leave Mr. 3lbs in the dust to wonder what the heck happened.

Must say, best rant post I have ever read. There should be a humor catagory of posts on ADBB and this should be a sticky when you need a good light-hearted laugh for the day.

Cleochatra's cake thread should be added as well. LOL That one made my day.

I couldn't possibly comment on all posts made, but you all some funny peeps! To answer one post, I usually don't tell others that I am on Atkins, but when they lean over so far that their nose is in my green benas, to look at my lunch, I inevitably get, "What are you on that Atins thing?" Usually I respond, "No I just hate animals and I am trying to single handedly make them extinct!"

My daughter's daycare owner asked me if I was losing weight today? I said yes ma'am 2 years of baby weight finally gone. I am below where I started when I became pregnant. She asked me what Iwas doing and I told her. I have no reason to hide it since I pretty much eat very healthy.
