Re: Question - please give feedback

    >>some of us are very slow losers>>

That's not a reason to stay in Induction though.

Re: Question - please give feedback

I lurked here for a while before I started Atkins and saw all these success stories of people losing 10 lbs/ week during induction. I was so excited. I actually thought, "So all I have to do is stay on induction for likr 3 months and I will be at goal!!" (Giving some room for plateaus)... Ha!! I lost a total of 6 pounds the first 2 weeks. I was so discouraged. I realized that induction is really just preparation and that I needed to stick with it. A loss, no matter how small, is still a loss. Don't do what will make you lose the most weight as quickly as possible, but what you feel is healthy for you. Do 2 weeks of induction and if you're still feeling ok and have no cravings then the choice is yours. Remember, the real goal is changing our lifestyle. If you stay on induction until you hit the 30 pound mark, will you be able to make it through all the rungs, pre- maintenance, and finally maintenance before you reach goal? Don't focus so much on winning the battle, concentrate on winning the war!!

Re: Question - please give feedback

I have less than 20 lbs to lose and I am 3 months in and still not as goal. And I don't consider myself a slow loser and I have an average weight resistance, based on the book. I would get so mad when the scale wouldn't budge on my time frame.
My goal was to be less than I am now for my cruise/b-day next week. Nope, not happening.

You will learn the same thing. And I go back to Atkins' chapters on plateau's to get me encouraged again. I've done it twice already.

Re: Question - please give feedback

I am a living testament that the goals shouldn't have dates... I thought I could lose 10 pounds each month... and I began getting really disappointed when I realized that wasn't happening this month...

and then I realized... this is for a long time... a lifetime... so I'll have more months ahead to get where I'm going...

good luck to you... but don't let goals be something that becomes a big disappointment..

          5-10-10 169.8 - 25 pounds gone!

Re: Question - please give feedback

Thanks to everyone who posted on this. Since I read chapter 12 and 13 of the DANDR 2002 version, I realized what everyone was talking about. If I had been patient, I would have read and answered my own question. LOL!

            I love you guys!
