You know, I have to agree with Bizzlekitty. You are very light. If you want to gain muscle mass, you may want to ask 64oz what he's doing. Has anyone seen him lately? I know that he's trying to gain muscle on Atkins. This will of course mean gaining more weight though, sorry.

hey skyhawk, I'm new here, but I am somewhat familiar with the Atkins.
I lost about 65lbs in 2 months about a year ago. Right now I am 220lbs, and have been measured and all that and my target weight for my height/bone (frame) size is about 203-208, so I am back on the Atkins.
I recently met with my doctor, who use to be a sports therapist (has worked with Lance Armstrong and Terrell Owens).
Any way, I was asking her what athletes eat, and she said mostly meats, eggs, nuts, cheeses, and select salads. No fruits, and only 100% whole weat products.
Any way, I bring this up, because it appears that this (the "Atkins" diet) is what athletes have been using for a while now. So with that said, even if you're not losing the exact amount you'd like, it seems to be the diet of choice for those who arnt even overweight.
She also brought up, that what isnt talked about as far as Atkins, is that although you're losing weight, that Atkins alone will not burn fat cells. So while you may be thin, you cells are not yet where you need them to be.
Looking at you, I see that your really not overweight. At this point, what I would suggest, is that you really start working on toning your body as oppose to burning fat.
A great resource for doing this is irontribe.com... they have an unbelievable message board devoted to weight lifting/toning.
Another thing that has recently been recommended to me, is the use of either fish oils or flax seed oils. These are "healthy" fats that will allow your body to shed that fat it is still holding onto. Also, every serving is about 55% of the daily protein you need... perfect for toning.
I don't think at your weight you should expect to lose much more just off this diet alone. Its really time to start watching your unhealthy fat intake as well as the amount of calories your taking in, which it appears your already doing.
May I suggest One a Day vitamins as well... your body needs Vitamins C, D, E, and K to help build muscle... and the more muscle u have, the more fat you will burn.
Hope my 2 cents helps.

Hi there :wave
I just wanted to say that I think your body is at an ideal weight for your size. It doesn't even look that bad. I believe what you really want to be doing is toning. maybe more cardio and a little less weight for a bit.
Really I think you might be happier with this than with trying to move the scale.
Just my penny worth.

Have you visited the 'Exercise forum' here?Originally posted by teejayI believe what you really want to be doing is toning. maybe more cardio and a little less weight for a bit.
Perhaps if you post there one of its regular contributors could help by suggesting an exercise regime that would help with toning those problem areas?Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

What I was suggested by my trainer, is eating regime like that:
not to eat animal protein 5 hours before workout
eat a light salad about 2 hours before workout nad then no more
not to eat anything 1-2 hours after workout, then a light vegetable meal
not to eat animal proteins 5 hours after workout.
not to eat starches and sweets after 2PM (allright we don't anyway lol)
eat more fish than meat
Workout is light weights 3x a week.
I'm not really sticking to this suggestion myself right now. But I know people who swear such "partial fast" is ideal for reducing waistline.female/33/5'

so you are looking to cut some fat and add some muscle.
As I said earlier you just need to work your Atkins and keep at it. It is going to take some time for you to grow more muscle tissues and burn off that fat. 3 weeks is just a drop in the bucket. give it a month andcheck your changes in inches lost off your waist and muscle mass gained.
Keep doing your weight training and your aerobics and you will get there.by the book atkinseer
