Well, I tell ya...I ate pretty much every type of sausage they made at the Red Barn (nothing teriyaki or honey or maple, mind you) because I figured it was no doubt such a minimal amount of sugar in the recipe that it wouldn't do much harm. I never experienced any weird cravings or anything when I ate it and I preferred having something that was locally made rather than super processed, so I've been comfortable with this decision.
I lost weight in weeks that I ate it, and weeks that I didn't, and when we did eat it, it wasn't like we would eat it for days at a time.
So that's my experience.
With the deli meats, I try and eat only turkey breast or roast beef, but sparingly since they are also full of salt.
