"Atkins is the ONLY "diet" that has worked for me without causing me to starve to death. I wish I could do it, but it's nearly impossible."

hmmm....50,000+ people seem to make it possible. Its an obvious life change...some peoplec an commit, and others can't.

Corn is full of starch and higher on the glycemic index. I wouldn't be suprised if it is a food allergy for you.

That's a good point, FTGF. I think if it's something a person really thinks they have to have, Dr A says that's a good sign of a food intolerance.

It's evil kharmic glycemic irony wrapped up in a cheesy nougat and smothered with "dang".

ttdriver - Do you travel? Have you ever taken a trip with your family or friends who do not eat the way you do and try to find a restaurant where you can order something? Do friends who do not eat the way you do invite you to their home for a meal? Do friends invite you to restaurants to eat where all you can ever eat is a salad...over and over and over again?

Have you ever been sick or had surgery and a group of friends or church members take turns bringing you food - and they don't cook low-carb (and it would be rude to dictate what your help brings)?
Yes, I travel, ALOT. Never a problem finding low-carb food anywhere I travel.

Yes, I travel with family who are not low-carbers. Never failed to find a restaurant where I couldn't find an acceptable low-carb meal. EVER.

Yes, I've been invited to eat with friends who do not low-carb. I typically can find something acceptable, or if I can, I ask in advance what I can bring that IS acceptable.

Show me a restaurant where all you can eat is salad.

I THINK YOU'RE LOOKING FOR RATIONALE TO CHEAT OR QUIT, BUT YOU'LL NEVER GET THAT FROM ME.

In 4 years on this woe, I have YET to go hungry or deprived. And I eat out ALOT.

If you want to quit, then do it, but don't expect me to say 'hey you're making the right choice'.

Good answer, ttdriver... and very important.

And so now, with that, dear readers, we wished our friend well who no longer wants to follow Atkins, and say a fond farewell to you until our next episode...

          Gooooood evening...
