    Here is a reminder for everyone...

    Induction - your challenge is to consume 12 to 15 net vegetable carbs per day


    OWL - your challenge is to consume 17 to 20 net vegetable carbs per day


    Maintenance - your challenge is to consume 22 to 25 net vegetable carbs per day



    And as Jimmie said, make sure you are subtracting the fiber from the total carbs to get net carbs.

    I knocked out 7 net carbs at breakfast with pumpkin.

      Thanks ......... fitday says 24 carbs 12 fiber when I add just the veggies so that means I have 12 net carbs ......... 8 more to go for dinner .......... hmmmmm I was gonna have my salad for dinner but that will never get me to 8 more.

        Jimmie and mitzi - thanks for the reminders of what we're aiming for! And, BTW, I'm having pumpkin @ dinnertime as a veggie side dish. I bought a whole small one called, "American Pie", yummy w/ butter!

          Asparagus with my lunch, planning on having broccoli for supper. I had some mushrooms in my omelette this am. yum yum

            I need an idea for a new veggie, i've tried just about eveything.....i bought mustard greens, i have had them years ago, but not since i've been on the diet.

              Another thank you for the challenge, Silly. I'm eating a lot more veggies than I ever would without it. I had pumpkin for breakfast, and I'm having bratwurst with sliced cucumber for lunch. 14.75 carbs, 10.75 of which are veggie carbs, so far. I haven't decided what I'm having for dinner yet, but I'll make sure to get at least 3 more veggie carbs. This seemed almost impossible last Monday, but now that I've "practiced" for a week, I'm sure I'm up to the challenge.

                Pumpkin is a great carb bumper upper, I put in for 1 cup for me tonite, but then I won't be able to have a salad, so I reduced it to .5 cup instead.

                    Popcorn does I would think. Per fitday: One cup popped in oil w/ butter is only 7 carb!

                      POPCORN--Oh how I LOOOVE popcorn......

                      Ok, 1 medium scallion and 1 cup of jicama with lunch and my totals look like this:

                      Carbs:13
                      Fiber:7

                      Subtracting the fiber I'm at a comfortable 6 net veg. carbs. There is enough left for a nice salad at dinner. I think I'm getting the knack of it and I finally got to try jicama---unusual but something I think I can aquire a taste for.

                        Had my fried eggs with tomatoes this morning. Got my supplies of veggies last night at WinCo. I just love that store.

                            Meena - weird maybe, but I like the jicama with a squeeze of lime and a little salt. It was served to me that way once at a Mexican restaurant and I really liked it! The crunch factor is what's so great about it.

                                actually popcorn fits in the grain rung, if i remember right. i'll research that to make sure. someone asked that ages ago and megs answered the question. let me see if i can find the quote.
