        Elffriend, it doesn't make sense to me to count fiber as part of your carb count because fiber is not digested by your body at all. It simply passes through and provides bulk for stools. I think current recommendation is something like 20-35 grams of fiber/day. If you met that, there would be precious little left for nutrient dense carb containing foods like veggies.

          Am out of town this weekend but wanted to post that week 2 homework is done and I am starting week 3 homework as soon as I finish writing this message! Keep up the good work all!

              Going to the Dr tomorrow, so I bet I'll have plenty of time to read. Taking it with me so I won't be wasting time.

              Wish me luck, maybe I can get some answers for why I keep getting more anemic.

              I just put a number down on weight because it was an even 80 pounds. I plan on going more by my waist size--I want it to be 28 inches or less. Fat goes to my waist first. Oh, and I really want the "fat apron" to disappear. Whenever that happens, I'm a goalie.

                Okay, I'm done. Not enough hours in the day (or night) this time of year. I've gone to sleep with my Atkins bible on my chest two days running! It's not even boring reading! Good night!

                    I'm done w/ pt 2 homework.

                    Jimmie, thx for being so specific on how you found your ccll. I get a little overwhelmed when it comes to that and I can understand it better when it is spelled out for me!!

                    I thought it was interesting in the section about Induction Abuse and how it can actually contribute to the YO YO diet syndrom.

                            i'm still in the progress of finding my exact numbers but i'm working on it!

                            the abuse: i so hate to see people restart so many times. you can actually sit back and read how someone has done this and they get frustrated because the weight is just not coming off llike they want it to or how it did the first time.
                            a coupld of us have already said it and i think i enen mentioned in the Whats your excuse thread.... i don't like induction and the less time spent there, the better!

                              brandy, it might not make sense for those of us that discount the fiber but there are still members, and i'm sure people doing atkins, that just don't mess with the calculations. we have some on the board besides elffriend that take the carb count "as is" without doing any subtraction at all.

                              i had a harder time with it at first because it's what i knew from days long past. back in the mid 70's, there was no such thing as subtracting the fiber.

                                Well, it certainly makes sense why people would get constipated on induction if they count fiber as part of the 20 grams.
