Posting now before going to the gym, so I dont forget how much so far. Will edit later to final total.

I hope that wont be too confusing

Feb 11th : 52 ounces so far at 6:30 pm plus 35 ounces at the gym = 87 for me (plus whatever I drink while posting tonight)

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I think one of the goals of the Atkins WOL is to learn to listen to our bodies. Certainly it's to learn that if we're not hungry, don't eat! I think that applies to water as well. If you're thirsty, drink. If you're not thirsty, don't.

The last thing I think we need is more pressure to do something unnatural, such as drinking when we're not thirsty. I think this sets us up for failure and feelings of failure can contribute to giving up on weight loss.

Nobody knows where the idea of drinking eight, 8 oz glasses of water really came from. There are NO studies saying you need to. There is NOT ONE shred of evidence that you need to. If you're running to the bathroom every hour it's either because there is something medically wrong with you, or because your body is eliminating all of the water you're drinking (i.e. not using it). If your body isn't using it, why are you drinking it?

The whole issue was debunked in Snopes as a medical myth a couple of years ago. http://www.snopes.com/medical/myths/8glasses.asp

I encourage anyone who is still skeptical to read the link and then post a reply.
The problem with listening to my body and only eating and drinking when I want to is that that is how I got so fat in the first place. My body craved carbs so I ate carbs and sugar. My body wanted caffeine so I was a diet coke addict. Just because my body wants it doesn't mean it is good for me. And just because my body doesn't want it doesn't make it bad for me (I don't think I've ever had a broccoli craving). This WOE for me is about learning what I should be doing and then hopefully convincing my body to go along with me! I've really upped my water intake since starting atkins and even if it is a "medical myth" I feel better. At first I was running to the bathroom every five minutes but now I'm not, my skin looks better and I feel good. I've changed a lot of things about my habits so it probably has to do with a lot of things, not just the water, but for me I'm happy to be drinking water if for no other reason than it is a much healthier alternative to the diet coke I had been drinking. I like drinking water and I like this challenge so that we can be here and support each other as we do this. If the idea of this challenge has you "running away" that is ok, you don't have to join it. I hope you can join another challenge you find more appealing and good luck on your weight loss journey.

        So!

If we knew what our body needed and followed accordingly none of us would be in the overweight situations we are today. Do you know what your body is telling you? No not always. Another factor is that what you might be intrepreting as hunger is actually thirst. What is proven is that our bodies DO need water. How much can be debated obviously but don't knock it til you try it.

So far so good have a full liter in me! Will post tomorrow what today's ounces were. Happy drinking everyone!!

Question: I take a bottle to bed with me around 11pm....should I start counting that for tomorrow then????

Sarah-are you floating by now???? Geez, I feel like I am and you've drank way more than I have!!! LOL, next question for ya...how many times have you been to the bathroom??? We have a snow/ice storm going on here in SW IN again, and it took me over 1.5 hrs to get home from work-I thought I was gonna pee my pants!
