          HEy Jimmie and all my fellow Weigh, no way challengers:

          Can you feel my pain? The scale for me is so therapeutic...LOL
          Its like when you get a new haircut and you really like the way it looks and you catch yourself going more to the mirror to take in the new look. Looking at that new number on the scale frequently is like absorbing this new person you have become..getting acquainted. ya know?

          Of course when you get a bad haircut you seek out the mirror frequently also huh? OK I blew my theory! I am Obsessed...I will admit it. THere are days I step on the scale like 4 times.....The first step is admiting I have a problem I have come so far! LOL

            razzle, i've seen members so much worse.

            i've seen members weigh before a drinking water and after drinking water. i've seen weighing a the beginning of a workout, in the middle and at the end of the work out. i've seen weighing before a shower and after a shower.

            you are rather health in your obsession in comparison.

              OK- Im just as obsessed with the scales! Even though they ususally disappoint me, I still thought about weighing as soon as I woke up... at 3 am... LOL. I got out the masking tape because I knew I could forget in a half-awake state trying to go through my morning routine, which has included weighing, and taped the numbers window so it's covered. Good thing I did!
              Meanwhile, I've been tempted today, but am resolute not to give in. The satisfaction promised (by the scales) if I don't is bound to be far more likely than if I do (usually slim to none).

              but regained ~20# in '07 in less than 3 weeks! And again early '08 ...Was in HEAVEN -got to 150, for awhile, then got too busy, and gave in too much... and... OK holding pattern "keep it together..."

                not seeing the number is not the same as not stepping on the scale. you didn't step on it, right?

                      Mine to Jo.. I think the only weird part for me will be remembering not to weigh in on Thursday.. and to wait for the Saturday.. aside from that it's not really a big deal to me. I sure can see that this will be a tough challenge for some though. Some of the measures people are going through to make sure they don't step on the scale made me laugh! But hey.. whatever it takes!

                        sassy, i've gone to those lengths before. on the last challenge i put the scale under the bed in the spare bedroom where i hardly ever go. i just think i've changed my mindset in a way. yeah, i would like to be 125 but in the grand scheme of things, if i can be 130 and cancer free, that's good enough for me.

                        i applaud all of you that have posted today! i know it's only the first day but i also realize this is quite a struggle for some of you. know this.... YOUR FELLOW CHALLENGERS ARE PROUD OF YOU!

                          I can't believe it. It's 5:54 I didn't fall into temptation. Of course when I go to the loo, I look right at it. I think during the week this might get easier.

                            i think so too, brightstar. getting through the first day is often the worst. kudos for making it a good goal day!

                              Forcing yourself to bypass the scale will actually help some people break that controlling habit. When this is all done, you probably won't be as fierce about jumping on the scale everyday.
