      yep.
      i want you to start out knowing what you weigh so yes, you get to weigh on the 6th. and in keeping with the suggestion by Dr. Atkins of weighing once a week [in general] you will get to weigh on those saturday's. just refer back to the calendar, print it if you like.

        Measurements, etc. have been excellent ... so who needs a scale??

        While this is hard since I am used to stepping on the scale every morning, and about to get more strict for the next two months...applying some behavior theory that is behind this challenge...

        Antecedent (promise of losing weight, being healthy) > Behavior (Atkins) > Consequence (expect to see scale move, among other benefits)


        Consequences reinforce new behavior or erode/prevent it:
        • Positive or negative (if the scale goes up or does not move, it's negative which is not good; this challenge targets this case)
        • Immediate or future (sometimes the scale is slow, so wait for the future, like a week!)
        • Certain or uncertain (certainty of weight loss and health will come over weeks not days)

        So I'm good with this.

        glenn, one other thing that this challenge seems to do for some challengers is really make one concentrate on the legal and proper foods for whatever rung the member might be on. when you can step on the each day a person might feel 'safe' to eat just one bite because they can check themselves repeatedly. with this challenge, the checkpoint of weighing each day or 8, as in sherri's case , it means a person really needs to be aware of what is being ate. it puts more concentration on the woe than the scale.

          I'm a part of this. I've been waiting for this challenge to come back. Love the concept! Everyone should be a part of this.

          Now...is it pertinent to way on every Saturday? Or can we skip a Saturday or 2 and just not weigh at all until the end of the month, kinda like how Sherri mentioned surpassing the challenge days.

              you can skip the weigh day on the 13th if you like. the challenge states which days you may NOT weigh. if someone wants to weigh 15 times on the weigh days, that is up to the individual or if you want to skip the weigh days, that's up to you to. just don't weigh on the no weigh days.

                    I'm in!! I don't OWN a scale, and the scale I use to weigh myself is owned by one of the ladies I houseclean for - and she's a once-a-week job No way to cheat on this challenge! *grin*

                    Jimmie - you requested a final post no later than the 21'st but since my weigh days are on Monday's (when I houseclean for the lady in question) would me posting my final on the 22 be alright?

                      this may indeed be a very easy challenge for you!

                      as long as you stay off the scale on the days indicated on the calendar, it'll be okay. but, if you weigh on monday [21st], that means on sunday, [the 20th] you would have already succeeded in doing the challenge. if i am reading your posts right, since you don't own a scale and you clean on mondays, you'll be scale free duing the whole challenge because monday is a no weigh day for the challenge. hope that's not confusing.

                      this is for everyone.................
                      this challenge is not about losing weigh or even to see if you can lose during the challenge. the start weight and end weight does not matter. the challenge concern is, can you stay off the scale for those days indicated.

                            not as hard as it used to be. in the olden days i would have made you go 2 weeks without weighing. now the kinder, gentler jimmiejo is allowing you a saturday weigh day.

                              I am seriously thinking of going 'whole hog' and just not weighing until the end as well. For me it is mostly all about the waistband anyway!
