Semi Annual WEIGH? NO WAY! CHALLENGE #6

      did you find yourself being more cautious with food choices?
      Yep. But I was also paying more attention to other signs of weight loss -- my legs looked skinny this morning and my jeans were quite loose. Normally I just step on the scale, not stare at my legs for 2 minutes, trying to remember if they are skinnier than they were yesterday, ya' know?

      What other indicators of weight loss is everyone using? Here is my list, pretty much in random order.

      1. Skinny legs in the morning.
      2. Skinny fingers.
      3. Jeans, especially for waist.
      4. Ketosis, although I don't use ketostix -- I go thirst and by the metallic taste in my mouth.
      5. I have tiles on the bathroom floor. I check if I am indeed slimmer by leaving a 1-tile distance between my feet and checking the distance between my thighs. The tiles are just the right size for my thighs to barely touch each other, so it's relatively easy to see changes. Yes, I'm a weirdo...

          For the record...

          Sunday...no weighing, at all...battery still gone, scale still without battery sitting on bathroom floor--it's residence.

          Monday....no weighing, still. Scale looks lonely without the battery...but at least its still sitting here pretending to work.

              Ok wasn't sure when we are supposed to report, but I figure reporting on the next day for the previous day. Kinda tough and I wanted to get in a weigh before the 29th but I was up late saturday, and by the time I thought to weigh in it was 1:30 AM on the 29th. So it's like an extra day for me.

                you did just fine. you can report as often as you need to and the day after is perfect. kudos for the extra day even if it was from a mishap.

                  I feel a little frustrated because I can't weigh in! I am clearly an addict. And I feel fat today because there is no evidence that I have lost anything since Saturday. I seriously did not think that this would be that difficult.

                    Day 2 of NOT weighing in. I went to the scale first thing this morning out of habit, but remembered to not step upon it. Whew! My scale is a giant, ancient Dr's scale, so it will be hard to move it anywhere out of the bathroom, but I may consider doing that.
                    Other Indicators of Weight Loss
                    1. Staring in the mirror at myself in my skivies- which I avoided doing for years until now- to check for progress and lack thereof.
                    2.Obsessively trying on clothes to check for fit- I actually zipped up some roomy size 18's, but could not wear them out of the house...yet.
                    3. Noticing my lower calfs no longer have upper and lower stories.
                    4. Weird, but I noticed I lie flatter in bed than before.

                      i love the list! the squares of tile isn't weird, it's hilarious! god, what we all do for the littlest glimmer of hope. and i can relate to letting my self-esteem rest upon the number on the scale. my whole day can be ruined if it says nothing, or worse: +1, and i can be on cloud nine if i drop two pounds. how ridiculous! this no-scale thing is genius.

                        Checking in again, still with my weird sleep schedule. I haven't weighed in, but it's day 6? of my induction and I already think I need to get my engagement ring resized.

                          perhaps you have not lost anything since saturday but then we are only into monday with the challenge. the cool thing is that we all know one day there might not be a loss and the next day, you might be down 2 pounds. concentrate on you phase, drink your water and stay active.

                          are you keeping busy so you aren't thinking about the scale so much?

                              Good Morning all... day two no weigh! yay! Doing fine, love that my skinny jeans are so roomy.. when i bought those jeans, they were skin tight several years back, they never fit this good. What a feeling.. and without stepping on the scales two times a day, i can focus on other things that tell me this way of life is truly for me. The squares of the tiles... man... funny stuff.. I am a pincher... i am constantly pinching my fat all over, to see if it is shrinking.. it is.. but ..ohhh sooo slowly. I have always been one of those dieters that fail miserably, because i want instant results. instant gratification... that fact that i am still with this three months and going Strong.. makes me sooo freaking proud... I am really truly going to make it this time and i cannot tell you how thrilled and proud i am with me, for a first time in my adult life. I thank this board and all it's wonderful memeber for the support and to help me relize that there are so many of us going through all the same things.

                                Seems like everyone is hanging in there, that's awesome!

                                As for me, I'm not OCD about the scale but for some reason since we've been on this challenge I've thought about checking my weight a lot more. It's the saying "You always want what you can't have." Now that we're restricted from weighing ourselves, we're a little more tempted to do it!

                                It's all good though, I think I can survive 'till Saturday. Georgiana, your post was hilarious, and the tile idea is actually great! I'm gonna use it myself, lol. Let's see how much that scale misses us 'till Saturday, muahahaha.
