  • It's time for the 6th Semi-Annual 20/24 Challenge!

    THIS IS SIXTH 20/24 CHALLENGE

    This is the award you can earn:

    please don't use it till you've earned it


    This challenge is for any member of the ADBB but
    specifically targeting those who are not involved in any challenge or
    are not doing any exercise.
    ALL ARE WELCOME!!!!!!


    Here's how the challenge works:



    1. Sign up in this thread .... SIGN UP BEGINS NOW THRU JULY 26
    2. Commit to doing 20 minutes of exercise on JULY 27.
    3. Tell us what exericse you're going to do (this is not written in blood, you may change your activity)
    4. Live up to your commitment
    5. Post your achievement
    6. Earn the award

    The date this challenge will take place is
    JULY 27, 2009
    THIS IS A 1 DAY CHALLENGE

    During that day, do 20 SOLID MINUTES of exercise.
    Don't stop for a break, don't answer the phone, don't take a nap. We want a solid 20 minutes of movement!
    AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN ON JULY 28





    Suggestions for exercise would be but not limited to:
    • walk
    • jog
    • swim
    • bike
    • stability ball exercise
    • yoga
    • pilates
    • weight training
    • DVD workouts
    • Slim in 6
    • treadmill
    • mowing with a push mower [no riding mowers]
    • sorry, housework does not count for this challenge. nor does home repair.


      This is possibly the easiest award you can earn on this board.
    20 minutes in 24 hours..... now who couldn't do that?

        I am in.. I will do a 6km walk... I think it might take more than 20 min though.

            OK, I am definitely in for this challenge! Can I use my Wii Fit/Sports Active workouts for this? I've been trying to use my Wii to help me get into better (read: some) exercise habits. The fact that the test said I was 77 also had a lot to do with it. If the Wii is not acceptable, I can do my WATP DVD.

              you certainly can use that workout! practically anything that gets you up and moving will count! i'm glad you joined and happy that you are trying to get into better exercise habits

                      I'll be doing week 5 of C25K, might be a little longer than 20 minutes, but it'll be there or there abouts!
                      I'm Nicole, 17 year old female
                      Starting date: 24/06/2009
                      Planning to be down to 140 lbs, so I can join the Royal Navy. And get running! 2.4km in 14 minutes is the aim. And wear a UK size 12, fitting all the clothes I've dreamed about wearing!


                      Mini Goal 1: 189 lbs - met 8th July 2009
                      Mini Goal 2: 180 lbs
                      Mini Goal 3: 170 lbs
                      Mini Goal 4: 160 lbs
                      Mini Goal 5: 154 lbs [healthy BMI]
                      Mini Goal 6: Dress size UK 14
                      Mini Goal 7: Dress size UK 12
                      Mini Goal 8: Run 2.4km in 16 minutes
                      Mini Goal 9: Run 2.4km in 15 minutes
                      Mini Goal 10: Run 2.4km in 14 minutes
                      Mini Goal 11: Finish C25K
                      GOAL: 140 lbs/13minute 2.4km/Dress size UK10

                        more minutes is a good thing but 20 gets you the award! in times past, many challengers have done way past 20 minutes and i suspect the same will hold true this time around.
