Clean induction for 7 days, extended owlish induction after that (add nuts and a few fruits, basically).

Are we reporting food totals here? I'd best go to the store now then! ;-)

      Hi Mari!

      My menu for today:

      B - 1 C Coffee, 1 pkt Splenda
2 fried eggs in 1 pat butter, 4 pcs bacon

L - Salad made of 1C spinach, 1 green pepper, 2 HB eggs, 4 TBS Ranch dressing, pc of chicken that was fried on our dutch oven (est. 4 oz or so)

      D - Planning - 1C Broccoli w/2TBS mayo, chicken

Hubby is home today and he usually fixes dinner so dinner is subject to change, but I will keep it legal.

Will drink at least 3 liters of water, going for a gallon

Might have some green tea before bed.

I'll go to the gym and attempt another workout. The stairmaster felt ok. I didn't think I got a good workout the other night, but I must have because I'm kind of sore. I did 15 min so I'll try for at least 20 min.

      Taking plenty of supplements!

      How is everyone doing?

Hey Girls, I'm in! Thanks for starting the challenge Marion - it's a splendid idea!

You're all starting on your Wednesday right? I'm confused, it's Thursday here now, so just checking.

Well, on Wed I had a good day I think:
B - skipped just didn't have time, but I did eat lunch at 11
L - 5-cup cos & spinach salad topped with 1/4 tomato, cucumber slices, hardboiled egg topped with 5oz of fresh-peeled prawns/shrimp, tossed in a low-carb caesar dressing
S - 2/3oz of havarti cheese and 1oz of jarlsberg cheese
D - Salmon steak marinated in fresh rosemary, basil & olive oil, served with 5 cups of stirfried snowpeas & chinese cabbage
          CARBS 25g CALORIES 1,673 64%fats/6%carbs/30%protein
Plus I walked to and from work 6 miles total for the day. Drank at least 90oz water today.

I've been good - I haven't weighed myself since Tuesday. I'm really trying not to weigh myself everyday like I used to. Fingers crossed that at least a pound has budged in 2 weeks.

            Okay, today's food:

sausage and cheese for breakfastlunch (I kinda just nibbled pieces as I worked)
dinner: hamburger with taco seasoning, cucumbers and sour cream
snack: more sausage and a mozzarella stick

I love this sausage - it's called abruzzo or something - it's the kind that is like hard salami and you buy it at italian deli places. Smoked or cured (?), so you don't have to refrigerate it. Who knows how many carbs it has in it but it can't be too many I figure. it's just meat!

              Re: Journal Gal's Starting Over!

Careful with the carbs KK. Sausages are notorious for hidden carbs unless you can get a butcher to make them purely out of beef or pork mince. Many small sausages are 5g carbs each and it's really hard to stop with one

Ok, this is what I ate Thursday:

              B - 3 egg omelette with 2oz of homemade curried prawns/shrimp
L - 5cups cos & lettuce salad topped the 1/4 tomato, cucumber slices, hardboiled egg and 2oz smoked salmon in caesar dressing
              S - 3 almonds
D - t-bone steak with 5cup broccoli & chinese cabbage stirfried with chilli paste
              CARBS 23g CALORIES 1,695 62%fats/6%carbs/32%protein

Ok, at this point I thought I had a good day, until DF came home and I made his dinner... and I had to have a quarter of his fried potato didn't I?????
              *sigh*
So this line now looks like:
              CARBS 29g CALORIES 1,741 62%fats/7%carbs/31%protein

Walked 3 miles to work, and for ½hr during lunch time down to the water. Oh, nearly forgot - I drank 130oz water so far today.

                Re: Journal Gal's Starting Over!

Good Thursday morning to you all! Sounds like everyone did pretty well yesterday. I did too...up until I had 1/4 apple last night. ***Sigh. But at least it was only 1/4. Tonight I won't have any. I promise. As far as the sausage thing goes...I read labels. There are some sausages really high in carbs, like the polish sausages my SIL buys are like 9 carbs a stick? I've found some varieties that have >1 g. per serving. I don't eat salami and stuff, but fitday says it has 1 gram per 1/8" slice. That was Salami in general. I didn't find the Abruzzo kind. I've been using sausage since I started, and it's never slowed me down that I know of. My only problem is I'm getting sick of it lately. Been eating more chicken and stuff.

And welcome aboard, Tickle! Glad to have you with us, too!

                Today's menu:
                B. 1 ITL sausage, 2 eggs, 1 T. cream cheese, 1T onion
                L. 8 oz. BW chicken thigh, 2 c. salad
                S. 2 pork chops, 1 c. broccoli steamed, 1/4 c. cottage cheese

                  Re: Journal Gal's Starting Over!

I bought this sausage at an italian market in philly - I'm pretty sure it's just meat - if you look at recipes for italian sausages it's usually meat, lard, and spices. I should be alright.

I know that breakfast sausage and the fancy kinds you get at wholefoods often have other stuff in them though!

                    Re: Journal Gal's Starting Over!

                    G'morning!

My dinner last night wasn't what I had planned. Hubby cooked some ground beef and I mixed it with my veggies. So yesterday came out like this (thus why I was UP .5 lbs today I think).

                    Calories: 1510 (I'm allowed up to 1499)
                    Fat 70%
                    Carb: 21 4%
                    Fiber 6
                    Protein 26%

I drank 3+ liters of water so I didn't make a gallon. However, on the UP side, we went to some friend's last night to visit. She is recovering from surgery (liposuction). She offered me some wine and I declined!!! You read right... I declined! She wouldn't have any because of her meds and I didn't want to drink alone. I'm proud of me!

Ok, now for today. Here is what is planned. Dinner is always subject to change.

B - 2 eggs fried in 1 pat of butter, 4 pcs bacon

                    L - Salad w/1C spinach, 1 green pepper, 2 hard-boiled eggs and 3 TBS Marie's blue cheese dressing (0 carbs)

                    D - ??? Steak leftover from the weekend, 1C broccoli w/2TBS mayo.

                    Should come out like this:

                    Calories 1381
                    Fat 64%
                    Carbs 20 4%
                    Fiber 6
                    Protein 32%

Oh, I didn't exercise last night. I have been so tired (induction flu?). Maybe tonight, dunno yet. I will try to get in a gallon of water today.

I'm definitely undergoing induction flu - my walk this morning was painful. I was sooooo sluggish, but I did it! When I'm tired like that I usually don't exercise as I figure it can't be good to make yourself expend more energy when you don't have any, but it kind of hit me halfway through the walk so I didn't have much choice. ;-P

                        Hi Mari and others!
I thought deeply about it and still here I am to join your challenge !
I'm really, really bad at challenges actually... never gone through any. Maybe this is different?

i'm out of induction, actually up to fruit rung, but I'm trying to keep away from dairy, which makes me bloat. But I don't eat all rungs every day, so maybe that's what's called low-carb-general or whatever. Anyway, that's how I am and if you wish to have me under those conditions, I'll try to do my best not to fall off again!

                        Today's foods:
                        decaf + cream (dairy, right...)
                        2 hard-boiled eggs, 1Tbs mayo

schrimps, tomatoes and cucumbers, with hellmann's

pork chop cooked with onions, cauliflower leftovers overcooked with cheese (dairy again!!!)
                        1 small baked apple

                        chinese lettuce with mayo
                        female/33/5'

                        RESTART: September 2009:

Success is a science; if you have the conditions, you get the result.

HI MOONWISH!!! Now we're all here, so this is going to be so fun! Everyone's meals look so good, I want to eat some of them! But...already had what I should today, so...better just hang in there. Got some good financial news today, so my hubby and I are going to celebrate with a little outing tonight. I promise I'll eat good....probably the Applebees Blackened chicken salad with Ranch dressing instead of their very sweet bacon mustard. Its just cheese, chicken, eggs, olives, onion, and lettuce...very yummy. Ok...off to shower and get some stuff done. Glad you're all doing well.

ugh. ate ice cream. I wasn't even having cravings or anything. I'm just having crazy hormonal swings and wanted a cheesy book and ice cream - I was in a TERRIBLE mood. I gave in. Terrible terrible terrible me!

but, that's all the guilt I'm feeling. I guess I just can't get worked up about a bowl of ice cream when I know that I'm still mentally on the wagon and it's just a blip in the road. ya know?

                            tonight: steak! green beans!

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off. Little slip and we won't make you feel more guilty than you do.

I'm doing great. Last night I didn't really feel like eating so I just had some broccoli. I gotta go into fitday and see what my %s are.

                              Today's menu:
B - Coffee w/1 pkt Splenda, 2 fried eggs in a pat of butter, 4 pcs bacon

                              L - Salad w/1 C Spinach, 1 green pepper, 1 hard boiled eggs, 3 TBS Marie's blue cheese dressing (0 carbs)

D - ???????? No idea! We are going out with friends tonight. If we eat at the club, I'll have steak and small salad (I'll give the baked potato to the guys) and I'll probably have some wine. I'll try to limit it to 2 glasses then have diet coke after that.

I rested my foot last night, it was hurting still. I hope by Monday I can start exercising more regularly. Since starting induction Monday, I've gone from 149 to 143.5 today! WOOHOO!! I CAN see goal a-coming!!!
