well no wonder you're finding it hard!!! you shouldn't need to lose weight for him, you should lose it for YOU! And if you don't dislike the way you look/are then there's really no reason for you to be beating yourself up about this.

It totally sounds like a mental block to me - when i am dieting when I do'nt wnat to diet I find myself eating things I NEVER EVER EVER normally eat. That sounds like what you're doing.

      Re: Journal Gal's Starting Over!

Hi Everyone! DID GOOD THREE DAYS RUNNING!!!
Good job everyone on sticking to your guns, and Ari... I know its tough, hun, but you'll come through this slump soon. I'm not going through exactly the same thing, since I'm losing weight pretty much only for me, as DH couldn't care less. But, I agree with Knick. If you're doing it for Rene, its probably not going to help your self confidence any, and will prompt "rebellious" eating. You're not thinking it, but your subconscious is. Maybe Rene doesn't realize it hurts that he isn't excepting you as you are? Its hard for them to realize what we suffer with the excess weight, since they are often so thin themselves. I know 147 seems like alot for you, but you are down alot from where you used to be, and you're looking very good! I think maybe its time to do some self examining about whats good for you now. 115 was good for you in your teens and early twenties, but you're not that age anymore. None of us are that age anymore. I know Hollywood and Media push this "You're never too old to look like a super model", but I know I'll never look like one. I never did to start out. People need to focus more on the joys of life then what size they are? You and Rene have your whole life ahead of you...its seems sad that you are so depressed about your weight when you are young, beautiful, and in love. I'm not trying to TELL you to alter your goals, or to be happy with something you're just not happy about...but at the same time, I've heard the sorrow in your words for awhile now, and just hope you can maybe forgive yourself for not being 115 anymore, and be happy with the beautiful Ari I've come to love as a friend.

I'm extremely tired today, and crampy all over. Despite my three days of being an Atkins angel, I'm puffy and swollen, and around 320. I'm hoping for a gigantic whooshie in the next few days. I know I'm carrying at least 10 pounds around by the size of my ankles. Knick..hang in there! 1 pound here today, 2 gone tomorrow!

Debbie...how's your foot? Is it quite new yet? And Moon...great idea on a challenge. I'm on day 3!

      to everyone! More tomorrow!

        Re: Journal Gal's Starting Over!

Hi Gals! Here's my fitday for today:
        B. 0 carb Sausage 6 oz, 16 oz. coffee, 1/4 c. heavy cream
        L. 3 boneless chick thighs, 2 c. salad, 1/4 c. shredded cheddar, 1 T. 1 carb ranch, 1/8 c. chopped onion
        S. 8 oz. ex. lean beef, 1 sl. american cheese, 2 T. pizza sauce (2 carbs), 1 c. cauliflower, 1/8 c. chopped onion

        Total: 1860 Fat:135=68%; Carbs:16-Fiber:6=2%; Protein:135=30%

Couldn't get my carbs up without adding calories, so I'm a bit low today. I was in deep ketosis this morning, and am feeling MUCH better about everything. That whoosh I predicted yesterday came, and I was down to about 313 this morning from 321 last night. All in all, I think I'm back on track for awhile.

How is everyone today? Ready for a fun weekend? I think I'll send Ari an email with everyone's good wishes, since I'm not sure she'll get here today, and it seemed like she was feeling pretty low. Hope you all have a FUN weekend! Look forward to seeing how everyone is doing.

so here is where my journal girls have been hiding!

i think it is wonderful that you are challenging each other! don't forget to stop by your journal once in awhile so you can share your losses with the rest of the gang.

mari, are you having trouble getting your exercise done for the challenge? i have been just a wee bit concerned about you.

                Re: Journal Gal's Starting Over!

                Hi Mari!

You're doing great! Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. Boss is back from vacation and is keeping us very busy. I might be a little scarce this week but I'll check in when I can.

I've stayed the course pretty well but my weight is wayyyy up again I'm retaining water really bad. I guess I've been consuming foods with way too much sodium. I've been drinking more than a gallon of water a day but it's not flushing out very quickly. I'm still not able to exercise like I want yet. If my foot doesn't start feeling better soon, I might go back to the doctor and see if this is normal or if something else is going on

Anyway, glad you're back on track! You sound so good and you're getting results! Keep on keeping on!

I'll check back when I can!

                EDIT
