  • "Staying on" Halloween challenge.

As I said, I'm planning a new challenge. I called it Halloween, because this way it's easy to call it and I think it could as well last till Halloween.
    Please do join me here!

The challenging idea is to count days of doing good
I know we all would like to do goog all the time, but for me personally it's just not happening. And as I slip, I stay unfocused for a while . And this means I'm out of any challenge as well. The challengew I have in mind lets me slip and still continue and meybe even win (if I don't slip on a regular basis of course lol).

So: I will be counting days of "staying on diet". If I eat ok today, but cheat a bit tomorrow, it makes it total 1 days "on" for me. Say 1 food-point (yes, like WW! )Same counting goes for drinking water and exercise. I say I have to drink 2 litres every day - if I do, it's called as a day of success and I get a water-point. If I don't drink 2 litres, I don't get the point.
And for exercising - if I do at least 30 minutes, I get an exercise-point.

And so we could see after say 30 days, how many days did we stay "on" for foods, water, exercise. Everyone could keep count of her own totals, so no-one needs to do any extra-job. And we'll have 3 winner by halloween: food-empress, water-queen, princess ofexerce !

    What da ya say?
Do it with me and let's end the cheating-spiral!

Oh, and everyone should say herself, what is your "point-value". For me it's only induction-legal foods ( I say it this way instead of "clean induction", because I still refuse to count my veggies, it drives me nuts), 2 litres water, 30 min exercise, for everyone else it can be different.

    See ya soon!

    Re: "Staying on" Halloween challenge.

    Day one report
food: 5+! I definitely deserve the point here.
    Food today:
    2 0-carb texmex sausages
    2 tomatoes
    2 cups decaf + cream
McDonalds Chef Salad (no sauce to be sure, everything else was legal in there)
Chicken with chinese cabbage + mayo
Why I call it 5+? Because I visited a friend today and she had made an excellent chocolate cream cake. I didn't taste it. Kids ate my portion, too. Actually I ate nothing at all at her house - and I don't even think she noticed it which is just cool!
And we took a 40 minutes walk as well to see her property. She's in a damn good shape, tha walk was really fast. So I earned my exercise point, too! Yay!
Water hasn't been so good. Have had maybe 0.5 litres (of 2 I need) so far. I'm doing my best to drink the rest before bed (I just love to spend the night at toilet lol).
See ya all tomorrow and I'll tell how I dod about the water thing!

      Re: "Staying on" Halloween challenge.

Well, I didn't drink the water last night .
And instead of waking up at night to go to the toilet, I woke up all the time because of thirst . I drank all night and was still thirsty in the morning. But I think it may be a good sign actually (ketosis? finally?). And it also made me realize how it can be really dangerous not to drink your water on this diet.
      Gotta do better next days!

Totals so far (started 26. aug.):
      food 1 point
      water 0 points
      exercise 1 point

I think this challenge is a great idea for those who are having a hard time sticking to the diet! Great idea to focus on the positive instead of the negative!! I'm already in quite a few challenges or I would join you. Best of luck to you, moonwish, I am sure you will continue to do great!

          Thank you, Mary-chan
I'm afraid I'm quite alone here

          Day 2 (aug 27):
          omelet with chicken, tomatoes, cheese
          2 cyups decaf + cream
flax + sour cream and sweetener
          canned sardines
          more tomatoes
          ham and cheese roll-ups.
another cup of decaf (no cream)

... seems to be all as much as I can remember.
And I did drink all the water needed plus more (maybe 3 litres or so)

          Points:
          food - 1
          water - 1
          exercise - 0

          total
          food: 2
          water: 1
          exercise: 1

            Re: "Staying on" Halloween challenge.

            Day 3 (aug 2
ham, cheese and tomatoes, 2 cups decaf + cream
chicken breast cooked with a bit of heavy cream, more tomatoes, mayo
            small can tuna with mayo
a small cup of decaf + cream

            Water - done
Exercise - I count it done, because I was running around 4 hours with 8 boys (celebrating son's birthday and organizing "active" games). I was pretty tired later - I really think so were the boys

Now the totals of three day are:
            Food: 3
            Water: 2
            Exercise: 2

              Day 4 (aug 29th)

I don't get the food point today, because I ate 2 of those organic fruit bars (actually they were just nasty, I don't know why I had to finish them both???)

              Menu's like that:
ham, cheese, tomatoes, 2 cups decaf w/cream
              flax, butter, sweetener
              tuna, mayo, tomatoes, sweet pepper
              2 fruit bars
              tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese
              2 cups decaf+cream
pork ribbs and cucumbers with sour cream (that's plan for evening).

My sis will come to visit today and hopefully eat all leftover cake, cookies and other goodies from birthday party. It wasn't hard for me resist them yesterday, but for some reason it has been really tough today (maybe because I'm sitting at home all day with them...)

I do get my water point, but no exercise today...

              Totals of 4 days:
              food: 3
              water: 3
              exercise: 2

Hey I changed my mind, do you mind if I join? I think I will give myself a point if I don't eat more then 3 meals a day (no snacks), 1 point if I do at least 30 minutes of exercising, and 1 point if I drank a fair amount of water. I will be the food empress

                How did you do today?

oh, forgot to say how I did today, ... I only get 2 points for today. Ate more then I should have, so no point there.

Today I am 222.5, by Halloween I want to be around 205 and wearing a size 18-20.

                  Goodluck!

                    Re: "Staying on" Halloween challenge.

Highly warm welcome, Mary-Chan! I was starting to feel a little bit "deserted" here, nice to have a company!

I didn't give myself a food-point for tuesday - ate too many sunflower seeds (I planned to put only a tiny amount into my salad but ended up eating the whole packet...). No exercise either as I went blood-donating and felt a bit weak later. But I did drink the water!

                    So: totals of 5 days
                    food: 3
                    water: 4
                    exercise: 2

Good for you for donating blood!

So far so good today for food and water. What I need to do today is get in gear and go exercise, but I am so tired from work!! Grrr! Only one more day on the job though. A part of me just wants to wait until tomorow to resume my exercise, another part of me wants to see the scale move!

Well I'll at least go walk my dog before I get too sleepy.

                      Totals: 2 days
                      Food: 1
                      water: 2
                      Exercise: 1

Ack, i need to start doing better! Okay, after work tomorow, no more excuses!!

Hey, after I posted that, I actually exercised for 35 minutes!! I was like, no more excuses, that's what got me here in the first place! Woohoo!

                        So to update my stats:
                        Totals: 2 days
                        Food: 1
                        water: 2

                          Yay! Good girl, Mary!
                          My points for wendesday+thursday: food - 0, water - 2, exercise - 2.
                          totals:
                          Food: 3
                          Water: 6
                          Exercise: 4

Now I see I must do better on food or it'll give me no results! I'm not too bad tho, but I'm still eating this or that piece of wrong foods every day. Not tomorrow, it's a must!

I'm in the same boat as you for food. I eat the right foods, but too much of it! Today my mother in law brought home El Pollo Loco chicken, and it was really good so I had two more pieces then I should have! I walked my dog but that's all I did. So only one point for me, for water! Today was my last day of work, so now I can focus all my energy on Atkins!

                            Totals: 3 days

Hey Guys: I know it is late to join in this challenge but I would like to join in until it ends on Halloween. So far today I'm on target; I'll post tomorrow my points. If I have it right I get 1 point per day for staying on diet plan; 1 for drinking 2 liters of water, and 1 for 30 minutes of exercise and this is a running total. Is that correct? I know I won't win anything, I just need the challenge and accountability
