  • Brookie Vs. The Wookie (Syrnett) Challenge

I wanted to post a centralized thread outside of either Brook or my journals for a little challenge we have.

From August 28th to October 1st Brook and I have a little bet going to see who can lost the highest percentage of their current weight loss goal.

    Brooks goal 16.2

    Syrnetts goal 35

If Brook loses, she must totally style her hair in teased out mile high claw of doom 80's style in the front, then she will apply makeup as gaudy as possible in the stle of Mimi from the Drew Carey show. She will then hold a sign up stating "I lost a bet to Syrnett.", take a picture and use the picture in her signature on here for 10 days.

If I lose, I will do the same, sans the hair part since i shave my head, with a sign stating "I lost a bet to Brook."

Lets the games begin! Place your bets!

(As a bit of history, I am undefeated in the weightloss betting realm, including a 30lbs in 10 weeks bet).

I hereby vow that WHEN I win, I will gloat until the end of time and potentially take out full page Sunday ads in the newspapers of not only Brook's home town, but the newpapers of the hometowns of all her relatives and co-workers with the picture provided.

I may also start a t-shirt and bumper sticker franchise with the picture.

I will take the winning picture to the farthest reaches of the highest inhabited part of Nepal to proclaim to the holy mountain monks that I was victorios, so they can included the story in their holy books for eons.

Small children will have folklore stories telling of my victory.

A small town in S. Africa will proclaim October 1st as "VOB <click click> Day" for Victory over Brook.

Aliens that Nostadamus predicted would arrive on October 2nd will spot Earth and then turn around before unleashing their death cannon due to fear of retribute from the universally known "Wookie Macho Man"!

Dont you have a cookie to go eat of something? Possibly some pasta? ...and if you were REALLY a good mother, you would be taste testing any treats your kids eat.... but thats just me.

          Game On...

LOL That's hilarious! I'm not sure if you're a fan of South Park, but that made me immediately think of Starvin Marvin.

You guys have a great little challenge going on here! I can't wait to see who wins. Either way, it's gonna be entertaining for the rest of us on the forum.

              Good luck!

Re: Brookie Vs. The Wookie (Syrnett) Challenge

PS - for the record, I have a good idea that I will lose but I will give it everything I got. logic behind this thought is that no matter how much weight you have to lose, the normal acceptable weight loss is 2 - 3lbs per week give or take. given a few good weeks, its entirely possible to lose 16lbs in 4 weeks (but still ambitious), while unless someone amputates something, its impossible to lose 35lbs in 4 weeks.

on the other hand i origianlly suggested percentage of weight lost compared to start weight and while it initially seemed unfair since i obviously have MUCH more to lose, over a 4 week period we could both potentially lost 16lbs since its in our range of needed weight loss.... and brook would still win since she has the starting weight of a bag of feathers on the moon.

either way, i fully plan on giving this my all and it goes without mention that i will honor the bet. if anyone sees a flaw in my logic, feel free to let me know. like i said, i play to win.... but its more driving when i got a shot. (and noone put a gun to my head to accept, i did it knowing all of the above... just curious if anyone knows of a "relative" way to compare weight loss between people at different stages over a set period of time... yes, im a geek like that... lol)

PSS - for anyone that doesnt really know me, my 1st reply was all in good fun and hopefully a good laugh or 2.

Brook and Erik....just consider yourself lucky that you're not competing against Cleo. She lost 21 lbs in like 5 or 6 days.

And just look at it this way...in the end, everyone is a loser.

Well Erik, if it makes you feel any better, the last time I was down to 10lbs to lose, it took me a YEAR.

Besides, I'm betting you're sitting on a huge first week whoosh. I know I'm counting on one and so far so good! LOL!!

By the way, even though you enjoy poking me with a stick and are sooooo darn good at it....LOLOL....I happen to think you're dabomb

I'd be interested to know if anyone can think of a better way to keep the comparison more on the level as well!

Brook and Erik....just consider yourself lucky that you're not competing against Cleo. She lost 21 lbs in like 5 or 6 days.
I was thinking about this..and here's the thing. According to Cleo's siggy, she's got 199 as her goal which is a total loss of 60lbs from start weight. If the goal is just the 60lbs, 21lbs of that gone would put her at 35% of her goal loss gone. If it's in comparison to the total amount needed to lose, it's 15.7%. Admirable no matter how ya look at it.

Erik & I are using our bottom line goal weights for this challenge.

With my goal weight loss of 16.2lbs in total, in the last week I've lost 6.2lbs. That comes out to be 38.2% of my goal accomplished.

That way it's an apples to apples comparison, ya know, and why I asked that Erik & I keep track of it this way - based on percentages.

HEAR THAT E?? 38.2% whooshed off me this week so far. Okay. None of it counts until the end of this challenge, but w00t w00t! hehehehe

I'm thinking a beautiful sky blue would suit your eyes perfectly.
