Re: ICES CHALLENGE Move IT (Extended Induction)

Good morning, all! I'm going through my morning internet routine while I eat my yogurt and pecans at work, and then I've got to get some work done. Last night was my rest night for the week, so no running, but I did about 30 minutes of yoga to see if I couldn't work out some of the soreness in my hip and it did seem to help. Tonight I do 2.5 miles, and tomorrow or Sunday I do 4! Very exciting and very scary. *g* I was down another .5 pound today, taking me to 201.5, and the official halfway point in my weight loss goal! My ultimate goal is just to hit 264 (the top of the 'normal' weight ranger for my height) before my 30th birthday. After that I think I'd like to lose another 10 pounds, but I just want to me Average for my birthday. Hee!

Hope you all are having a good morning.

Re: ICES CHALLENGE Move IT (Extended Induction)

Good Morning ICES family!!! Hope everyone is doing well. I have a cfew loops in the way I am doing this challenge. I've been posting them here and there but I figured I needed to write them in a list so I know what i'm doing as well as you guys. I know one thing inparticular you guys are REALLY not going to agree with, but it's for a reason I swear!!!!

      1. Going to keep weighing myself until im back to 249, and then I will stop.
      2. Right now for some unknown reason, I cant throw down any veggies. So i've been making roasted cauliflower and eating that along with an entire cucumber for my 2 cups b\c I cant get the lettuce down. ANYWAYS, what im trying to add in is that, when I eat my cucumber i eat it with italian dressing. That way it's easier to eat. I need to get that out of there, but for now its a must. I've never had problems getting veggies down except this time. Weird?!? So I Promise, once I can stand plain veggies, I will eat them like im supposed to and maybe mix it up a little.
      3. ((ok here we go)) I'm not exercising right now and havent been since I started back on monday. My reasoning is because i'm having a tough time sticking with the atkins-friendly food and when I try to exercise, i get starved and end up cheating. So i'd rather get the eating down before I start adding in the exercise. ya know what i'm saying? I did this the last time I started and it helped alot. I know that its not going to help me lose quicker but if i'm going to make this a total life change then i need to do it one step at a time to make sure i stay on this. Hopefully you can understand what im saying.....lol!

Ok thats all. So as of now it's a bit modified but as long as I can get through week 1, i'll be ok and will go back to what im supposed to be doing. Just an update on me!

PLEASE DONT YELL AT ME FOR NOT EXERCISING!!! IT'S COMING IN NEXT WEEK!!!

Re: ICES CHALLENGE Move IT (Extended Induction)

I won't yell at you But when you are making a lifestyle change it is sometimes hard to start to do everything at once. I understand totally. Incorperate the exercise in slowly as you feel ready. If you are not ready to exercise that will only cause you greif and you will only end up hating to do it. You want to be able to enjoy it and if you are worried the entire time about over eating and binging with the exercise ( this has a lot to do with mental) then by all means do what you need to do to get through the first week. Next week start out slow with the exercise it may only be short bursts 3 times per week, any exercise is good exercise in time it will come and you will be doing it more and more consistantly. I know it can be hard as you venture into basically the unknown and that's why you are here. I want you to do the best you can do and I want you to suceed if that means you need to not exercise for a week then so be it. We are all here for you for the long haul and I know that exercise will become apart of your life.

        (((HUGS)))

So any how I went and did Pilates, it was agood workout not as good as running so since I was sooo energized from actually being able to sleep last night I went downstairs and decided to run my little but off. I ran 4 miles in 46.50 to make my running total for this week 26 miles I am pretty darn happy about that WOOOHOOO. Amazing what a little sleep will do and what a lot of stubborness will help you achieve. LOL

Well I should leave you all with that I hope you are all doing well and hope to see ya'll posting about your progress I am excited to know how everyone is doing.

Hi all! I've really been neglecting my posting on the ICES challenge, bad bad bad!

BUT! I have been really good on my challenge...no coffee and no treats for me!

Exercising and keeping up with my 'walnut' minutes...I will have to push a bit to make sure I get my minutes done by the end of the month...no slacking for this girl!

That's it for tonight, I'll be signing off for now...it's almost time for Big Brother 6...yes, I'm addicted to (some) reality TV...no need for a 12 step program yet

Have a great evening, chat in the a.m.!!

Hi everyone, I've had kind of a tough day but it's over and I can finally relax. My hands are really killing me, it hurts to type even this so I am not pushing it, no excercise for me. I will soak them and wear my braces to bed, anti-inflamatory and I should feel better tomorrow.

I think I overdid it last night during excercise and I felt something pop in my left wrist, ouch! I almost cried today lifting an umbrella, how depressing is that. It's ok, I'll live, and I'll be here tomorrow checking on how you guys are doing.

Speedy - I agree totally to what Sarah said, I think a lot of people get confused with this WOE because there are so many aspects to it. Get the first one down pat and then slowly incorporate the others.

Re: ICES CHALLENGE Move IT (Extended Induction)

Oh Dear Me Yoly you be sure to take care of that wrist It doesn't sound very good. Especially since you can hardly lift anything. Try to give your hands a few days and be sure to do what you need to do whether it be icing them or heating them up. You can still exercise just skip the hand weights for now so you don't stress the wrists too much and cause sever pain so that you can hardly do anything. I would hate that and I have seen it happen with Carpal Tunnel. One day it's all right the next your backs against the wall and you don't know what to do cry or take another pain killer. SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take it easy on your hands they are an important part of every day things and you need them to do most everything.

                  Hi all!

                  Yoly~Looking too cute there, girly!!!

Me too been bad about keeping up here....I'm out there in la la land trying to keep up with life. lol!

I've been good. I just sniffed DH"S coffee as he walked out the door this morning to go to work...it was a good snif.

                  Decafe tea is my friend.

The scale has been kind for the minute....today I dragged it out of the garage and weighed in. -1.5 gone. WOo hoo! Okay, so there was my weigh in for the week. Back the scale goes into the garage until next weekend. Next weekend will be my final weigh in for the Exercise Challenge. I'd like it to be for the rest of the month too. man, it was a long week to go without the scale! How do ya'll do it???

No pop. Let me tell you. It's the weekend. I miss my coffee, okay fine, I drink tea. I miss my pop. There's no substitute. There's only no pop. I drink water & tea. Okay, enough whining.

Okay, so here I go, I need to break out the pompom's, mega phone, grass skirt, coconut shells....wait! Where am I? I thought I was at a luau. Ha!

Yes, I surely Hope we all get a big Group Whoosie That would be totally ROCKIN.

So today is my Big run day I feel like crap. I am bloated and swollen and found out I am somewhat allergic to nuts How crappy. I never really thought of it before but this has happened a few times.

I was really craving anything chocolate so I bought some Mac nuts and had a handfull. Well within a few minutes my throat was hurting feeling like the starting of a cold. I felt great before the nuts after I felt Yucky. This has happened before and I never put the 2 together YUCK. ANd I love those little things. Oh, well another thing that could potentially slow me down so I guess it's all right. No more mac nuts for me ((WAAAHAHHHHHHH))

So today is killer run I am really PRAYING my hubby will be home cause it's gunna take me at least 3 hours on the treadmill I don't wanna have the kids Unattended for that long it would be stupid. Maybe we can all go together he can ride the bike and I can run that would be awesome then they can cheer me on that would be excellent I'll mention it to him cause I think it would be a good thing for all of us to do I know my daughter would love it.

So 11 miles I will attempt to do outside if I can if not it'll be inside.

                      Take care all

Hello everyone today got off to a slow start but ended with a really big BANG. I was saying something about my treadmill not guaging my milage properly well I got a pedometed which is supposed to be very accurate so to test the theory I ran 1 km outside and it was within 0.01 which I would say is extremely accurate. I am very curious on how far I am actually running when I am on my treadmill I knew my thing was out but didn't realize how much it's out. Well for kick YES, I AM SICK I decided to run my 11 miles with my pedometer on HOLLY CRAP EXCRUTIATING. I am sooo sore now but, the good news is I not only ran more then 11 miles I actually ran 14.1 which means I have reached my first goal of running the Half Marathon Way ahead of schedual can you freaken belive it that's like 22.6 KM that isn't no walk in the park it was freaken hard so hard in fact I didn't think I would get the last mile out but, like I said I am stubborn and did it.

I wanted to see where I was at the half marathin mark I ran that in 2:24:40 WOOOOHOOOO for me and I burned off a ton of calories I need to eat now. LOL

Take care all hope you have as great a day as me

woo hoo!!!! Sarah that is fantastic! I am so proud of you, you never cease to amaze me. Congrats!

As for me my hands were feeling better this morning so I got busy, I did Ramp it Up, it's the second stage of Slim in 6, harder too, but it was really good, I enjoyed it. As if that weren't punishement enough I swept and mopped the entire first floor (1100 sq. feet) since then I have been doing laundry, reading 4 chapters and typing up tons of pages of notes.

But I am happy to report that I am finished!!! I just finished typing my notes and so now I can get down to the nitty gritty and start drilling for my exam. I have about 30 pages typed up, lol, this ought to be fun. I better get a superific grade on this exam or else i'm really gonna be upset! It's on Tuesday so I'll let you guys know what I got by the end of the week, wish me luck.

So sorry I have been kind of MIA here for the past few days, usually I am a post machine but I am going through my first round of examinations just now with 3 tests coming up in the next week and a half not to mention the GRE, that I am preparing for. Give me a little break and i promise to be back here in full affect in a little while.
