Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread For the Week of Sept. 25- Oct. 2

Oh my goddness...that totally messed with my mind! For some reason all the updating I did yesterday did not stay or I forgot to click on the save button or something..anyway...stuff was not in the chart that I put in the chart. I am pretty sure I got everyone's weight in there correct now. If I missed you or your weight is wrong please post again. So sorry for the mess up!!!

On the bright side....WE HAVE LOST A TOTAL OF 205.9 POUNDS!!!!

Now how KEWL is that???!!! Congrats to all of us!!! Not just those losing weight but those who are still on plan even if they are losing slower than some! That is what really makes winners here!! Hugs all around!!

          You can do it!

          I know you can!

And no! Nobody's going bald! That's normal for people on Atkins to begin with. Your hair will grow in thicker and healthier. It's happened to a lot of us!

So it will!!! A little concerned as I have PCOS and so already have that problem and wondering if I will have any left. What is the reasoning behind this?? Anyone know??

NOt doing well. THought I was getting better, and got hit again. So I will spend most of a week sick, really sick.

And eating whatever will go and stay down. and NO exercise. I get tired making my bed. Work is killing me. The initial loss was great. Creeping back to status quo.

Feeling better again, so Maybe back to full swing this weekend.

              We shall see.

              Hugs, folks...

I have been doing really well this week with my eating. I have exercised a couple times this week (I had mid-terms), but plan to pick it up to atleast 30 minutes a day.

I have been craving chocolate, probably b/c it is TOM, but I won't give in (keep your fingures crossed).

I pray I make it to my personal goal by Dec. 31st, but if I don't I will be able to say I really tried and gave it the best I could and that is all I can ask for. A lot of my friends and family say I shouldn't try to loose so much as I will look sick. If I see that I am comfortable at 30 more lbs. than I will re-evaluate, but for now I am looking at 50.

Sorry guy's...I posted my stats on last weeks board!
I am still at 148 with 18lbs to go...I am working out really hard this week. I *will* meet my goal of 135 by my 35th birthday. My heaviest weight was 240...I have worked hard and come a long way not to finish!!! I hope everyone continues to keep your eye on the prize...even through the holidays...I am preparing my mind now not to be defeated during this time I think it's a matter of how bad do you want it and I decided I want my health more. Several people in my family have died...I believe prematurely due to high blood pressure, heart problems, diabeties etc...I choose to break the curse in my family.. I am encouraged and I hope that we all have good reports at the end of this challenge!

New Me...Good for you for resisting the chocolate and sticking to plan!!! You won't know how you will look at each weight until you get there so good idea for you to wait and reevaluate once you get there.

msgrand....you have come a long way. Good for you for breaking the cycle and setting a good example for the rest of your family!

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread For the Week of Sept. 25- Oct. 2

                            Re-posting this because IT WORKS!

I want to talk about a strategy I realized which has REALLY helped me the last 2 weeks.

In large part due to this epipheny I'm about to share with you, I've been cheat-free and have exercised nearly every day since setting this constraints for myself! And I've never looked back! And I've lost more weight than ever before.

So many of us set time goals for ourselves. I know right now I'm taking part in an outstandingly exciting challenge. We've all chosen our goals for New Year's, and so far we're losing a lot of weight working towards our New Year's Eve Goals.

Granted, time goals are not always practical for everyone, if it motivates you, it's better to shoot for the stars and miss, than to shoot for New York and hit Moose Lake.

It had been really tough lately for me to keep exercising and eating right, because of my prior habits on this way of eating in the past.

Just the other day, by chance, I said to myself, "What if this was the last 2 weeks before the end of the challenge? Would I work harder? Would I exercise everyday? Would I be more stringent in my eating habits than ever?"
A light bulb illuminated as I realized that if it were, in fact, the last 2 weeks of this challenge, o the things I'd do to get to goal at that last minute!

It was then and there I decided that I was going to treat every day as though it was within those last two weeks of December. Since then, I've not only exercised everyday, but I've stepped it up a bit. I now drink all my water. I eat every meal with meticulous preparation to ensure that each one of those 'fictional' last 2 weeks will yield me the greatest results and that I will hit goal by December 31!

Too many times have I sought after a goal, just to goof around for three months and then put in the effort the last 2 weeks. This time around, I don't want any regrets. I don't want to look back and say, "If only I'd exercised that week, I'd be down five more pounds!" I don't want any regrets this time around.

For me, every day is going to be one of those days I'd realize in those last couple of weeks in December where each and every one of us are going to work harder than ever to achieve those goals we have set for ourselves!

And what a difference it has made already.

To whit... I think that so many of us are the hurry-up-and-wait-until-the-last-minute society. McD's says we can drive through the window if we're running late. We can rent through Netflix because we just don't have the time. Everyone promises us time, and says, "Go ahead! Wait until the lasy minute... Fed EX and Kinkos are even there for us!"

Because of this, and because of the way we were trained to be, we tend to goof around, not realizing that in such things as exercise and following a pragmatic eating regimen, it is essential these things be done everyday.

We don't stop watering and fertilizing the apple tree for three months and then expect it to put forth fruit just because we gave it two weeks of water and fertilizer in the end.

Why should we expect fruit from our bodies through lack of daily care?

Therefore, the "last 2 weeks" theory, an epipheny for me, really has changed my way of thinking. New parameters are being set, and my paradigm has been shifted from the Kinko's drive-through girl, to the one who is nourishing that apple tree everyday, knowing that in the end, I will have the fruits of hitting goal as my reward!

So try looking at things in a new light... whether it's a challenge, a wedding, a reuinion... treat each day as though it is in those last two weeks before the event. You're down to the wire. Live it TODAY.

Maybe you'll discover the solution you've been looking for has been right in front of you the whole time!
