  • Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 16-22

Good morning! I am so sorry I didn't get here quicker to start this thread! Yes, I am lame. *l*

    How is everyone doing?

This week, I want to focus on teamwork!

Is there someone on the team who need extra support? Someone who hasn't shown for awhile?

Why not take the time to give support to someone this week, contact a missing member of our challenge or share something about yourself that will help us to get to know you better!

I will say that one thing this challenge has been big on is teamwork and genuinely caring for each other! I am so impressed with each of you, and I am so blessed to be in a challenge with so many amazing women.

Thank you for this opportunity and for the daily reminder you afford me about what makes ADBB and you all so fantastic.

    I love you guys!!!

    PS.

Of course, as usual, I love seeing menus, exercise logs, water intakes and your non-scale victories!

Yay! Thank you for posting the new thread *good chatra, good girl* ((((HUGS))))

I've been waiting for this for a week! I'm back on track! Yay! I feel so sick though. I had bacon, and sausage for breakfast, but I think it was a little too heavy for me. So I'm trying to come up with some other things that aren't quite so greasy.

Thank you all for being here, and I'm so glad to be here again!!!

I'm not going to weigh myself because I know TOM is being ugly to me right now.

As for homework, let me do some recon work b4 I post

Love you all, more than you will ever know!

I'm still plugging along, thanks to the support of everyone on this thread and ADBB in general. I'll welcome the chance to share something about myself. This has nothing to do with Atkins, it's just random fun facts. I love random fun facts!

I've seen the Indigo Girls in concert 16 or 17 times (I lost count)
I've had a prisoner pen pal for about 8 years, and have gone to the prison to meet him once.
I'm neither a lesbian, nor a prisoner groupie. I am happily married to a man who has never been in jail, nor in a lesbian folk rock band.

I'm convinced that not only won't I EVER get to onederland, never mind the 160's.I feel so stuck it's making me mad.YEs the scale is moving(very slowly),but I stil can't understand why I gained 5pounds,which by the way is coming off mucha mucha slow. It's a little depressing.I know that eventually I WILL get to onederland, but it seems so close but yet so far away.Don't mind me it seems I've been PMSing forever, yet TOM's no where in sight..

lots2lose-- don't feel bad! My scale's not moving either!

You and I have to decide that in spite of our stuckiness and how annoying it is, in 2 months it'll have only been the smallest blip on the whole weight loss radar!

We can beat these plateaus! They seem like they last forever, and things seem really depressing, but then all of a sudden--boom! And you're down 3 pounds overnight again!

We'll hang in there and we'll endure!

Fancy...good to hear you are back on track!

Womanpraised...I would like to make one quilt before I die...LOL!

Lots2lose....hang in there...if you are following the plan it will work for you. Patience Grasshopper!

                Homework:

I would like to see Sharon post...I know she was struggling. And jsj hasn't posted for awhile. I would love to see everyone check in once a week at least.

Menu...same old same old...still haven't added a legume...will probably just go up a rung next week. Am keeping my carbs up to 32 though.

Fun Fact #1: I am married to my high school sweatheart.

Fun Fact #2: I once did laundry (and partied) for the movie crew for a movie that was being shot in my town that starred Burt Reynolds and Cynthia Gibb.... used some of the money to buy a stereo for my car.

Fun Fact #3: We raise exotic birds...Macaws, African Greys, Amazons...etc.

You guys are SO why I stayed on track this week!

                      Thank you guys!!!

And a few facts about me you might have never known:

My name is not really cleochatra
                      I was my highschool mascot
I was a punk rocker in college and still love alternative music
I had a poem accepted to a bad poetry anthology once
I didn't get my driver's license until I was 17 (I was too scared to drive)
I used to pour the oil in the dipstick hole in the car because I didn't know where the oil went

It is so much fun learning about all of you!!!

Don't worry! Seriously, just don't. I did, and it about drove me crazy!

See, I was 'stuck' at the same weight for 7 miserable weeks. I was eating perfectly, exercising up a storm, and it just wouldn't budge. I about drove myself crazy with the scale, too. It definitely wasn't a good time.

Turned out all I needed was patience! Because as of the last two weeks, the scale is moving down again at a good clip, and I haven't changed a thing!

Are you taking your inches? Or taking progress photos? If not, you should! They were lifesavers for me when the scale wasn't moving, because at least there were other measurable changes I could track!

                            Hey Everyone!

Just checking in. I am reporting no loss this week. Last week 8 pounds this week zilch What is up with that? Oh well I'm still noticing changes even if the scale doesn't show it. I'm feeling really good. I have not exercised at all though so I know that's it and yes I know if you're not exercising you're not following the plan. As I have said before I am soooo lazy. I will start my workout today. I have Shrink Your Female Fat Zones by Denise Austin and it is HARD! With a stability ball and some weights and it's pushups, crunches, obliques. It shrinks our butt, belly, thighs, and arms. Anyway that is my goal for this week. I have to start my workout and stick to it.

Fun Fact #1 I met my hubby online and 6 years and 4 kids later still going strong!

Fun Fact #2 I once got myself locked in a mall and had to call the cops to get myself out! (How embarassing!)

Thanks for all your support. I caould never have made it without you!

I'm doing great! Down another 1.5lbs this week, if you can believe it. After that terrible 7 weeks of being stuck, this is practically a dream!

Hey Elsie, can you update my weight to: 180.6 / 151 / 145. Thank you!

Is Jaria still out there? Or Gabs275? ChixRule? twg? Come on folks, poke your head in and say hello! Lets keep plugging away!

So, things about me that you may not already know...

                              - I have two degrees in two completely different fields - one is a B.A. with a specialization in Latin American History and a minor in Political Science. The second is a post-graduate in Web Development. I now work in web development, but am considering going back to school for a year for my teacher's certificate so I can teach computer science at the highschool level.

                              - Of those two degrees, I graduated in the top 5% of my class with the first one - apparently this means, according to my piece of paper (my degree, heh) hanging up on my wall, that I graduated "with distinction." With the second, I graduated first in my class, so that piece of paper says "With Honours" and is accompanied by a couple academic awards and a president's letter. Can you tell I loved the whole school thing?

                              - I come from a big family - there's 6 of us. My husband, however, is an only child. Sometimes my family overwhelms him.

                              - I'm an amateur photographer. I don't go anywhere without my camera.

                              - Until recently, I used to own too many purses to count. Some people are shoeaholics, I'm definitely a purseaholic, but I gave a bunch away recently. I've migrated to the knapsack style purses as of late, as they seem to hurt my back least.

                              - I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. This is bad because I'm 26 years old, and feel like I still dress like I'm in college and as a result, that the older adults I deal with every day don't take me seriously. Oh well, at least I'm comfortable.

                              - I am a total computer geek, and readily accept this. At our all-time high, my husband and I have owned 5 computers between the two of us - 3 laptops, 2 desktops. Now we're down to 2 laptops and 1 desktop, for the sake of space in this itty bitty condo! I don't know that I could ever handle 1 computer at a time again - I will likely always own a desktop + laptop from now on.

                              - I'm a very very typical Virgo. Heh.

Ok, enough for now. Off to make my lunch and get ready for work! Have a great day, ladies!
