Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 16-22

Good morning! How are all you lovelies doing?

I have a minute to stop by and sip my Diet Coke (aspartame is my friend), and catch up with everyone!

Elsie-- You're the womanl! Thanks for all the support and the updating you do, and for keeping us altogether on the threads! Yor help is so appreciated!!! Also, those are really interesting facts about you! The bird-raising is really interesteing, though...and so few people marry their high school sweethearts! That is really special. Regarding legumes, did you see rybread's recipe regarding baking garbanzo beans? I'm so there! Sign me up for legume rung. *lol*

Effie-- oh yeah. Laugh at the ditzy girl. The good news is, I was really careful and didn't spill any!

rybread-- You stalled for 7 weeks! OOF! The excellent advice you have to lots is very helpful! 7 weeks staying at one weight and you were still melting (obviously, I've seen your pictures, girl!)

Down another 1.5 pounds!!! You are the woman! I bow at your toes, girl! you are doing GREAT! I love learning more about you....poli sci and web design could be extremely handy, especially during election time! Have you done any webwork for candidates? You could even start a web page for highschoolers about government and politics to mesh with computer and how the internet has affected the world of politics!

susiegirl! How are you? You are just going through what is affectionately known as PISS (post induction stall syndrome). You've lost so much weight that your body is having to readjust. Thankfully this is temporary. You'll be losing again in no time!

Congratulations on an 8 pound loss!!! YAY!

Oops! Sorry. Got a little excited there. And woohoo on having a sweet hubby you met online! There are more and more people who hook up that way... that is an awesome story! And getting locked in the mall! LOL! That is an awesome story...must...hear...more...

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 16-22

Hi everyone! I am still here and hanging in there. Sorry I have been MIA, but I had such a hectic week! I had to weigh this morning as I had a doctors appointment and I wanted to see how closely my scale at home matched the one at the doctors office. I am happy to report that I am now at 205.5.

I had not seen my doctor since March when I weighed about 270 pounds. He was of course very happy with my weight loss and very supportive of my being on the Atkins diet. I talked to him about what my goal weight should be and he said 150. That sounds like a long way away and I had been thinking higher than that, but I will give it my best shot. Being healthier is my goal.

I am so proud of everyone for staying true and hanging in there. We are in this for the long haul.

Now, for some things you probably don't know about me.

      1. I have "known" Cleochatra from a decorating group we have been a part of for years. I bet you all didn't know that she has great taste in decorating too, did you? It is so awesome to be able to participate in another group with her. She is a special lady as you all know very well.

      2. I am an RN and am the Health Director at a local university. Makes sense that I should work on my own health doesn't it since I am to be an example to others.

      3. I have been married to an amazingly wonderful man and my best friend for 24 years now and we have 2 wonderful children.

I am thankful for each and every one of you all.

Fancypants! (No, I'm not done yet. I've only started sipping and typing)... Nikki, hang in there. TOM is the WORST. I had a partial hysterectomy (no uterus anymore) but I STILL bloat and have to deal with water weight gain and some of the issues with mood and cravings! It's so not fun! You are doing GREAT and I'm so glad you're back! Hang in there and keep smilking brightly, beauty! Post your picture again soon. You really do put Kirsten Dunst to shame.

        Effie-- LOL on
I'm neither a lesbian, nor a prisoner groupie. I am happily married to a man who has never been in jail, nor in a lesbian folk rock band.
Woman-praised! OOH! You are an interesting lady, too! What a lot of musical skill you have! Will any of your progeny play musical instruments? I homeschooled my three kids once! Sometime when you need the giggles, I'll tell you about it.

did you really drink a gallon of water?! Way to go on the accountability!

Tammy! OMG. You are so going to get into Onederland! Wait forrr meeeee.... (kidding. As if we all want to wait for months and months and months...) *l* I am SO excited about your doctor visit! Didn't that feel totally great? I am sure he was soooo giving you compliments and kudos, wasn't he? Not only are you a success, but if he ever had doubts about Atkins before, hopefully he is seeing the light in the proof of you and your test results! Of course, your being in the medical field, yourself, you know all those biiig biiig medical terms that relate to "look at me shake my thinny booty!"

Yes, guys! I have had the privelege of knowing Tammy for years! so when she came to aDBB it made me so incredibly happy. I love this woman, even if I can't decorate.

Wow rybread....we are very similar....I'm a virgo too.

            Other things about me.

            - I always loved school...I was the teacher's pet and always had my hand up to answer questions. I used to correct the math teacher.

            - I also have very diffferent degrees. I went to school in Quebec so after high school you went to CEGEP then to University. In CEGEP I studied Fine Arts with optional courses in Math (Calculus). In University I majored in Math and minored in Computer Science. I then did a Masters in Computer Science and a teaching diploma in high school math.

            - I'm a major computer geek, currently a partner in a high tech company.

            - I'm very anal, a perfectionist, no patience for stupid people, will do anything to get a job done..nothing is "below" me.

            - I'm very competitive, have always loved a good challenge and will always try my best to succeed in any competition....and in life.

            - I collect coins....Canadian coins.

            - I never wanted to have children 'cause I was so focused on my career. My current husband (he's my second) convinced me to have a child and now I can't understand what I was thinking about when I chose my career over children.

wannabe-- that is SO cool. I never knew those things about you! Now, you say you aren't friends with stupid people but you suffer me just fine TYVM. I might not be the brightest apple in the box of AppleJacks but I have spunk! {{{Wanna}}} That you are very math-oriented doesn't surprise me, either. You really like number crunching! I do, too, but was an English major.

Well I fell off the wagon badly, but I started up again last week and did good all week. I started taking a medicine that made me ravenous and fell to pancakes and chocolate and all that other fun stuff. How quickly one gains weight and how slowly one loses. I havent been on the boards because work and school have been insane. I still am on the challenge and have been doing well for the last 7 days and counting. I had gained all the way back to 236 (but TOM snuck in there too) . Hopefully I am back down a bit. I will weigh tomorrow morning and post on the board.
                            Trying yet again!

At least I've been through it cause it means if it happens again, I'll know what to expect and won't be so miserable cause I know it'll pass!

Heh, I've completed projects with billion dollar corporations (M$), tiny non-profits, international agencies (UN) and governments, but believe it or not, none for political candidates! Strange!

That's a great idea, btw! [The internet + politics angle!]
