There you go - another fun fact about me: I went to three, yes THREE different universities to get just my B.A. And then to yet another school for my post-grad. I made transferring schools an art.

Ooooh, what part of the industry?

Yes, yes and yes. Apparently this makes me 'intimidating' here in my office. Whatever! But really, that quote should be put in the dictionary next to the word "Virgo"! Along with honest, blunt, incredibly loyal, and organized.
OMG!!! You went to Bishops? So did I! I also went to Champlain College on the same campus. What years? I went to Bishops during 1980 to 1983 and Champlain from 1978 to 1980

Our company does Managed IT support, Custom software, Web site content management and Power Management services.

Blunt...oh yes, I get into a lot of trouble with that.

Wow, all these Virgos in here. It kind of scares me. I think Cancers must be afraid of Virgos. We sit in our homes curled up under blankets, avoiding any & all confrontation.

Elsie - My stats are correct as you have them. 189.5. I know my ticker says 185.5. I got down there a few weeks ago and just don't have the stones to raise it back up. I need the visual reminder everytime I post that I need to get back there.

Suzyhomemaker - I met my husband online too! We talked online as friends for 6 years before meeting in person. In that 6 years, we were both engaged to other people, but never got married. Once we were both single, we knew it was time to meet. He's Canadian and I'm American, so we ended up marrying after only meeting in person twice! It's been 3.5 years, and so far so good

Ok, but the real question is: Are you a virgo?

            Cleo,

susiegirl! How are you? You are just going through what is affectionately known as PISS (post induction stall syndrome). You've lost so much weight that your body is having to readjust. Thankfully this is temporary. You'll be losing again in no time!

I'm still hangin' in there. I gain a pound lose a pound, gain a pound lose a pound so I'm still staying pretty much the same So this PISS how long does it usually last? I'm still burning fat at least that's what the ketostix tell me.

Congratulations on an 8 pound loss!!! YAY!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

Oops! Sorry. Got a little excited there. And woohoo on having a sweet hubby you met online! There are more and more people who hook up that way... that is an awesome story! And getting locked in the mall! LOL! That is an awesome story...must...hear...more...

Well my friend & I went to the mall and came back out. Her car broke down in the parking lot and I had pee like crazy so I ran in to go pee and when I came out the lights were all out and nobody was there. The doors were locked! I had to call 911 to get out. It was totally embarassing and she never let me forget it to this day! Everyone there....the cops, store owners, and all my friends were in hysterics! It's pretty funny now but at 17 or 18 it wasn't too funny. LMAO!

Thanks! I needed a good laugh!

Goooooooooood morning you adorable dollops of sunshiney beauty!

*tackles Elsie and gives her noogies... just because...*

Jaria-- it is so good to have you back! Medication can be horrible stuff because of side-effects. My favoirte side-effect of any med was nausea. *LOL*! Unfortunately, not enough of them sport that side effect, do they?

rybread-- I'm a freelance brainstormer for people. I have the busiest brain of any woman I know (it's a curse). I love new ideas and concepts and am always looking for something that hasn't been done yet. Your site would become a tool for schools all across the nation, and with an attached section for Q&A, you would really be the cat's pajamas. You would also have the opportunity to bring in thinktank groups and various media with that angle which also makes you look smashingly good.

But back to the diet thing, I am glad knowing that a 7 week stall means that when it happens to me I'll know who to come and whine to. *l*

wannabe-- I think it is so cool you guys went to the same college! BTW, morning, sparklyfarkly! LOL on asking Z about being a Virgo...

Effie-- I hope there are going to be any Virgo sacrifices to the Carb Gods required! Ar ar! I think it is so awesome that you met your hubby online, too! And I understand about changing your stats. If that's what helps you, I support you. With your high level of activity and running, I have no doubt that you'll take it right back off! I have sooo much respect for you as a runner!

Zarabelle-- Have a fab holiday!!! I will miss you, sunshine! Have fun, stay safe and bring us pressies! *l*

Susie-- Goooood morning! PISS can last a week or so. It takes a little time for the tissues to exhale the water out of your system. It will go away soon! Keep exercising, or if you haven't started, start now. It really does make the biggest difference in weight loss, regardless of weight loss plan. LOL! on your mall story!! Oh, you poor girl! Was it creepy? I would be hiding under a ficus. We all know tha mannequins come alive after the sun goes down.

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 16-22

Yea it was pretty creepy! It was dark & scary and felt like prison LOL. But hey now I have another story to tell my kids other than the "I met your daddy on the computer" story. I don't know if anyone remembers the chat program Powwow, that is where we met. I was in all these different rooms and he kept following me around and talking nasty so I would keep closing all those rooms and he still kept finding me. Finally he stopped the nasty talk and I said ok fine I'll talk to you and he was pretty nice. I then came up to NY from PA and met him and his brother who is about a year younger said that I had a fake pic up and when I got out I was gonna be gross looking. Well I finally got here and as soon as I did he (the brother) said OMG do you have a sister. I said yep! I brought her up with me later and now they are married too! All this back in my skinnier, younger days. It's pretty funny my kids and my sisters kids look like they are brothers and sisters. Pretty neat story!

Oh btw I thought of another Fun Fact

I was shot with a 22 when I was like 5 and I'm alive and kicking today.

HA! That's crazy! What a small world. I was at Bishop's for the 1998-99 school year. I lived in Norton Hall, on the 4th floor. I am so glad that was my first experience with post-secondary education - its such a different experience... a different culture when compared to the big universities (I also went to McMaster and Uni of Toronto). I was glad to have it before I went to the big concrete monsters where nobody talks to one another and the concept of school pride was totally absent.

Do tell - what was Lennoxville/Bishop's like in the 80s?? Was it still a one-stoplight town with one restaurant, one grocery store, one pharmacy, and like, 6 bars?

Oh oh! Was the school song still butchered so it was sung by drunken freshman as the following, especially on those shameful walks home from the bar, or in front of the President's house during frosh week?

I loved Bishop's. It was the best 3 years of my life. Same town...Jerry's Pizza, The Lion, and I forget the name of the other pub that had disco dancing back in the 80s. I stayed in Norton Hall too...first floor.

Yep, same song, sung the same way. I was one of those frosh leaders during my last year there. Got to boss the new guys around.

It was the type of University where you could learn and have fun at the same time. I went to McGill after that and it was quite the culture shock.

Sorry you got the flu for your birthday Womanpraised. That's not any fun. There should be a law against that! Happy Birthday to you!

How is everyone doing? I am feeling really discouraged, depressed and weak ( in my resolve). I am an emotional mess right now. I am a couple of days late for TOM and I feel like I could explode and shatter into a million pieces. Dang hormones! Hormones are the devil. I feel like there is absolutely no way I am going to make my goal for New Years. I only lost 4.5 pounds last month. I am thinking maybe I need to go back to induction. Sorry for the whining. I am in a really bad funk right now.

I hope everyone else is having a great week. I am proud of you all for hanging in there.
