Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 16-22

I'm down 2 pounds! Wahoo! Going back on reinduction helped break my stall! It's almost 3 pounds, but I'm saving it in case I need it next week. *lol*

Way to go on your loss Jaria! 2 pounds! Go you!

{{{Woman}}} Dang! The flu! *kicking the dirt* Geez! Mom gets you all the good presents! All she bought me was this EasyBake Oven!

rybread's quaffing ale and singing a rousing tavern song. *LOL* I love it!

{{{lots}}} PMS is the worst. NEVER be afraid to take Pamprin (it works). For cravings take l-carnitine and chromium picolinate...they work and are lifesavers! You can do this, but when there are supplements and OTC meds to help, take them! I do!

{{{twg}}} We've all hit some plateaus, and I'm starting to think the last 23 pounds I have to lose are going to be boogers. But we're fightin' wimmin! We still have plenty of time to lose this weight! TOM stinks (I'll be hitting mine in about 10 days)! It makes it harder for us to hit goal...but that doesn't mean we can't! We can and we will! God is just testing us... and so are our scales. *LOL* I'm still celebrating your NSC and your strength and your hoopie happy vibes!

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 16-22

I should never have looked at a post on another low carb bulletin board of before and after pictures. People were putting their before pictures on there and then their after pictures. While it is wonderful to see their success and I am very happy for them, it occurred to me that I still look like most of their BEFORE pictures. I have lost 75 pounds and I still look like a BEFORE picture. One girl had a picture in a bikini at the same weight I am now as her before picture. It was horrific. That is what I look like now. It is discouraging. I know I should think of how far I have come and not compare myself to anyone else, but it is hard after looking at post like that. PMS is evil. I am in bad shape today. Sorry to be a downer, but I feel like I am going to lose it today. Has anyone else ever been down like this? This is my first time feeling so discouraged.

Hello ladies. I'm still around and doing well. I havent been exercising like I have been wanting to but i'm still doing about 3 days a week. I also havent had a weight loss for 1 month. I just did the calculation. I know that's ok but i've never gone this long without some kind of loss. I'm been kinda staying away from the boards also for the past week or so cause i'm so gosh darn BUSY! Just wanted to let you guys know i'm still going strong and hopefully will be able to post a loss SOON!

            WB-

I was one of those frosh leaders during my last year there. Got to boss the new guys around.
Let me find my shocked face.

            Cleo - congrats...

Ahhh. hon... the problem is, you are using other people as your measuring stick... Compared to me, you are a skinny minny, compared to, say, Faith Hill, or Jennifer Aniston, we are all hopeless.... You know what? It doesnt matter.. what matters is that you dont look like YOUR Before picture. It isnt just your weight, it is YOU, and YOU are getting better. You cant be any of those other people, so dont worry about THEIR pictures, your own are the ones that count. And when you are at goal... you will have gone so much farther than them, your vicotry will be greater. I dont discount anyone who only wants to lose 20 pounds..we are all after our best life. BUT, I know that my road is longer, rockier, and more uphill, and because of the health issues involved in remaining so obese, or gaining more weight, my risks are greater and my gains larger. It is all about YOU. Everyone else can pound sand.

Thanks for your encouragement. I am sorry I was so negative this morning. I should start a journal for that sad stuff and not have posted it here. Sorry everyone for being so negative.

Congrats everyone on your losses and all those non-scale victories. I am so happy for you! KUTGW!!!

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 16-22

OOWW! (getting up slowly and rubbing my head where I got the noogie) What the heck was that!!

Here I was thinking no one was talking and am 3 pages behind. I wish I could get notified for every time someone posted here.

Cleo...YEAH! On two pounds down! LOL on saving one for next week. I took my pound last week hoping it wouldn't backfire this week.

Jaria...try upping your water to help against the medicine making you more hungry. You have has such great success so far...I know you can keep going. Congrats on the two pounds!!!

Come on Lots2lose!! You can do it! You don't need all the frankenfood stuff...you've done great so far and will continue to!!

twg....Don't get down now!!! You have come so very far. You body will adjust and you will start going down again as long as you are sticking to plan!! Ask rybread!!!
On the otherside...I, too, have been feeling a little blah lately too. Not wanting to fix my salads..tired of it all and want to be at goal already. I am wondering if it is because we are getting closer to winter. I am also late...but more like 1-2 weeks late. But I have PCOS so that can happen sometimes...though it hasn't in a long long time.

As far as looking at the pictures...do you have a before and now picture...because I bet that you will be able to visibly see how far you have come and that might help. Stop comparing yourself to others....you are your own unique person and one day by sticking to plan we will all be able to post our before and after pictures up and stand back and say DANG! Look at ME!!! I did that!! Hang in there girl!!

And please don't apologuze for being down..and NO you are wrong about not posting it here. This is exactly where you should post it. We are all here to support each other...that means when we are struggling too...not just to clap when we lose some weight....good and bad...that is what we are hear for! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to encourage you by posting how you are feeling!

iwillbethin...thanks so much for checking in!!!
Zarabelle...never be sorry to report you are the same...that is much better than gaining. Hope your holiday goes great!

                BTW...I am a Taurus

Suzy...interesting that your sister married his brother too....

WomanPraised...Happy Birthday!!! How did the dinner go??

Yep, same song, sung the same way. I was one of those frosh leaders during my last year there. Got to boss the new guys around.

It was the type of University where you could learn and have fun at the same time. I went to McGill after that and it was quite the culture shock.
Haha, The Lion! That place is legendary.

I won't lie - I didn't participate in most of the frosh week activities with the group/frosh leader I was assigned to cause I hated my frosh leader so much! Instead, a bunch of us from my floor created our own frosh week - toothpaste wars in the hallway, water gun fights through the building in our underwear... Ahh, frosh week. There's nothing like it.

I definitely loved my time at Bishop's and often wished I had stayed, once I transferred. I went back a few times afterwards to see friends, and it was nice to see that some things at Bishop's never changed. Gathering from what you've said so far, it really does sound like that there are some things at Bishop's that never did change, and probably won't ever!

LOL. That song was sung CONSTANTLY by students at the school. [Its actually a rip off of the actual school song - there was the song the administration touted, and then there was this one that everyone actually sang!] At the bar, you'd randomly here it start at one end of the room and finish on the other. On the way home from the bar at night, you'd walk down the hill screaming it at the top of your lungs, and inevitably someone on their balcony or porch would start singing right along with you. Or at the basketball games, the entire arena would start singing it nice and loud. It was frosh week tradition that all the frosh would go and sit in front of the President's house to sing it to her. That song was so entrenched in everything!

Heh, me, the poster girl for a 7 week long 'pause' where I made myself crazy with anxiety over not losing, only to stop freaking out, keep doing things the exact same way as before, and eventually have the weight start moving again. Go figure!

LOL rybread! You crack me up. Listening to your telling about the song makes me think it's as cozy as singing in a pub somewhere made of stones with a huge hearth in the room! It sounds like there are some VERY special memories there.
