Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 16-22

Elsie! Is it to late to post a weight loss? I'm happy to report a 4 pound weight loss this week bringing my total weight down to 261pds. Hopefully next week I'll be in the 250s. I'll be really happy to reach this first goal. This week, I did extended induction for 3 days but the rest of the week was OWL. I'm going to continue on extended induction because it seems to be working really well.

Congrats to everyone on the challenge. Everyone is doing so great, staying motivated and continuing on this way of life. Keep up the good work! I'm really proud of all of us.

      Ebony...congrats on the pound down!

Cleo...thanks so much for the congrats! I don't know why I seek external validation but I do.

lots2lose....now you are on a roll! Keep it up.

Andrea...can I suggest that for the next two weeks while you do induction that you don't have any sweets...legal or otherwise...and then see how you are doing after that? I think that if you feel you NEED them that that is really the addiction to that food that is talking and the best way to break the addition is not to feed it. Just my opinion though. That said I heard that 1 T sour cream mixed with 1 T cream cheese is really good.

Shashee...you can post whatever you like whenever you like. Anything to keep the lines of communcation open and to lend and give support. There is no set day for reporting in...whenever your weigh day is is fine. I update as they come in and it doesn't matter to me when. When I get behind in the posts I open another window so that I can use that one to type in my responses while I read the posts in the other window...sneaky, huh? That is because I have the memory of a gnat. You may call me Dori...LOL!

Suzyhomemaker....a 29 inch waist...SIGH! I dream of the day....I think the last time I measured that I was 13-14. Glad you thought to measure. Hang in there.

      Chart has been updated.

          Helllooooooooooooooo you cutie patooties!

I have to volunteer and do thingers today but I wanted to swing by first.

shashee! Welcome back! You've been missed! We start a new thread each week, so that tends to cut down on the overall concern with keeping up.

Effie-- I like induction. It was hard as heck to get myself back away from eating yogurt, but I have to say I'm really enjoying it and I'm losing weight again. I'm looking into some of the probable causes.

{{{suzy}}} Keep up the good work! You are doing GREAT! And even on days when things get tough, do you REALLY want to go back to feeling out of control and ruled by food? No way! Besides, You are right. Men haven't been bred in an evolutionary sense to carry pregnancies through famine, so they drop weight faster. To men, they just break wind and the next thing you know they're down 27 pounds for apparently no reason! Our retribution (I GUESS) is that they kick the bucket sooner than we do. To have a high metabolsim means something in the body is working overtime. So, in short, we can say that boys fart and die.

YAY GABS!!! Go gabs! Go gabs! Down 4 pounds rocks!

Elsie-- I think we all need kudos! Besides, there is a lot of positive enegry that goes around when we're losing weight! It's encouraging to everyone and keeps us all going. At least we can live vicariously through our friends when not through ourselves and success at the moment.

Some people think that because I'm a mod I became a borg and plug myself into the wall at night to recharge. Even borg need some support from the collective. BTW, does this data phase interrupter make my chromial apportionings look large?

          Thanks for keeping us updated!

CLEO! Don't say that! You are to pretty!! I really get upset when you use your humor to put yourself down. I hope that one day you will see what the rest of us see.

I have been busy today. Aside from other stuff we have rescued 2 wild kittens and we are taming them down before finding homes. Mama cat is still out there with one more...hopefully the baby will be caught. Then Mama can be caught and fixed and released again. I really don't understand why people just drop off their animals like this. At the very least they should take them to the SPCA and lie if they have too and say it is abandoned and they are just bringing it in. That is at least better than dropping it off hoping that someone will adopt it. The adults go wild quite quickly and won't be able to get a home. Makes me so mad!!!

Planned cheat tonight. Kept it within reason, but feel stuffed. In a bad way. Back to strictness tommorrow...

Set my new goals, and my reasonable New Years goal is 230. I should be able to hit that, all things being equal. If I pass it, that would be great. But this way, I have a chance to hit it.

WOuld it be too much to change it? I think the out of reachness of the other one was just boggling my brain.
