    I reaches my lowest, yaaay! 194 is the lowest i've gotten since I've been trying to lose weight, over a year! If I ever make the 180s I think i'll cry!

        I look forward to getting into this!!! NO CHEATING UNTIL CHRISTMAS! that's my personal commitment.
        I want to be thin. I want to be a runner. Why can't I get it into my head that both things require work??

        • Sorry all for not being around in a couple weeks...I was on vacation and didn't have computer access. I see we have lots of new people in on the challenge though since I left!!!! Good luck to everyone :ThumbsUp


          I also wanted to report that I lost 5 lbs. from my last checkin and am now at 153. Looks like I might actually meet goal before Christmas!!!! WOO HOO!!! :joy

            • I've been thinking this morning. Do you think that wanting to lose 30 lbs. by Christmas is too high of a goal, should I adjust it and aim for 20 instead? See, I'm at 162 or so now, though I'm really short and am eventually aiming for 110. But I wonder, should I challenge myself with 30 lbs. (which I'm not sure if they're attainable) or go the easy route and just ask for 20lbs.? It's four months to go... what do you think?

              Also, I've been doing some catching up on this thread...

              Michelle - big congratulations on your 5 lbs!! I know it normally takes me a month to lose that much. *sigh* slow loser here. But you're doing awesomely well, keep it going! Congrats also on the 200+ cheatfree days, that's incredible.

              Maribelle - welcome from a fellow newbie! I do look forward to sharing and becoming part of this group. :wave

              Kibs - ONEderland, eh? 194 is not too shabby, so if you've been at this for over a year, how much have you lost in total? And girl, don't you say "if" you reach the 180s - of COURSE you will, if you want to, all it takes is sticking to this!!! So when you make it there, we'll all be here to cheer for you. :joy Great job on the exercise as well... I'm not exercising at all right now, I'm all caught up in moving (I'll move to DC from NYC in a month!) but as soon as I get settled down there, I'll join a gym.

              Elmark - you're in Denmark, eh? That's awesome! I'm Austrian, but have lived in the States since September 03. I'm actually going home to Vienna in about a month! (*shudder* - I'm afraid of going way overboard with the food, so being in this challenge is definitely a good thing...)

              Mpatient - OMG good luck to you, I hope that the power outage is the worst thing that happened to you through this hurricane!! Best wishes, and please check in soon to let us know how you're doing. And, no gains.

              Supreme_diva - ONEderland as well, whoa, congratulations!!! That's a big milestone, keep up the good work!!!

                  About Goals... I think each of us loses at a different pace, so If you know you can lose 20, shoot for 22! If you think 30 is a big stretch, well... One thing I noticed during the 4th of July challenge was that those who lost weight , but didn't hit thier goal felt bad. Losing the weight is the important thing, but when we challenge ourselves and don't quite make it, our mind can play the game that we didn't do good enough (when we actually have always been moving in the right direction.)
                  In a few weeks (half way through the challenge), I will offer to switch anyones goals according to what they believe they can lose. I did this in the 4th of July challenge because I think it is key to our well being to have a goal that we can make.
                  Especially on Christmas! Even if a persons goal is 10 pounds, Christmas morning will look much brighter if they know they completed that goal! Lets all take a good look at our goals the next couple weeks and then I will take a day and edit everyone's goals at once.

                        • Mystique - thanks, that's some great advice here! I'm going to stick to those 30 lbs. for now, and when your modification time comes I'll re-evaluate and see how far I have come, and how realistic it is to really go all that way down.

                          Asj4me - welcome, not just to this challenge, but to the board!! I see you're just starting on your journey, that's great! Please feel free to ask anything, and we're rooting for you!

                              welcome to the challenge....as you see, my goal is very high set....I decided on that goal at a period where I was consistently loosing 2 pounds a week....
                              I'm keeping my goal the way it is for now....I can always adjust it later when we get closer to christmas.....

                              Actually I just drove through Austria this summer on my way to Italy....very beautiful country....(and good looking cakes that I didn't eat, but wanted to).
