Re: Mid-Year Resolution Thread for October 23-29

    Hi all.

Confession - I've been trying to get back to induction for about 5 days in a row. Today might actually finally be a successful day one. Truthfully, I've been struggling for about a month, but it wasn't until I couldn't even do one day cheat free that I knew I had a serious problem. It all started when I went rafting at the beginning of the month. I haven't been able to get back to my pre-rafting weight of 185.5 since then.

Goal - I really am starting Induction today. It's already 8pm, so I've done it. I'm going to post a lot more of this in my journal, but this is the in-a-nutshell version.

I can lose 20 pounds by New Years still, right?

Okeedokee! I have a little time before I have to hit the treadmill so I wanted to pop by and give some positive oomphies to my sistahs!

{{{woman}}} I think going to Alaska is a good thing, unless it makes it hard for visitation, which, then might be a problem. If DX is papa, moving far away, while being great for you, might be too much for your child to have to deal with. Naturally, I'm not privy to your personal life, but it sounds plenty stressful, and dealing with someone with control issues (that he obviously has) makes your life a stinker when you're dealing with mr-wants-it-all-his-way.

I can understand the chocolate and the soda, but that won't make the problems go away. I think your getting it all out and talking about it helps, though! You have friends here, and while we may be 'imaginary' with names like 'cleochatra', we're still your girlfriends! We're here for you.

So, part of me says, "go to Alaska!" Part of me says "Keep kid close to dad" and you learn ways to ignore him, because you are SO over being the mother of TWO babies. *snap*

{{{Effie}}}-- I'll go read your journal. Hopefully you're going to discuss what the underlying problems have been that keep you unable to stay on track. Even if they're niggling little annoyances, what's up? You bet you can still hit your 20 pound goal by NYE. That's 10 pounds a month. Doable, if you lose about 2 pounds a week! So whatcha waiting for? You can make it!

{{{Wannabe}}} I am so glad to hear all is well! I look forward to seeing the two of us go plowing towards NYE in our goalie-sparkles! I am SO going to lose weight and get to my goal!

HEY!!! Good morning wannabe!!! Thank you! I'm so excited!

I rowed for a few after walking, but I was pooped by then, so I'll try and row earlier today. Getting to 217 is going to be very exciting for me because it will be virgin weight for Atkins!

Michelle-- I'd say that so long as your goal weight falls into line with what your doctor says is healthy, and so long as you feel good and look good, adjusting goals is certainly no crime!

Thank you Cleo for that. I was looking good and feeling good but DH is all ticked off at me. He says he's being supportive cuz he knows what goal I had set for myself. He said well why even set a goal? The goal I had originally set 115 he said was unreasonable and unrealistic. So make up my mind already. He's just jealous I think. He can eat all kinds of crap and still lose so what is the big deal? Anyway I'm still not quite sure what I should do. I'll continue to workout and follow Atkins until I can figure it all out. Maybe I'll start going up the rungs as suggested. Yes Size 10 is awesome! I never thought I'd be happy to be in a size 10 but I am ecstatic! They are even loose so maybe I'm actually an 8 Stranger things have happened LOL. Thanks for all your support. I'm so glad somebody supports me. All my hard work is really starting to pay off.

                        Your buddy ol' pal,
                        Michelle

TWG7590 checking in! Sorry I have not been around the past few days. We have all been under the weather here for a few days. I am back on track and feeling good. TOM is about over and so are all the cravings that go along with that. I am down .5 pound this week. I was not going to weigh until 11/1, but I couldn't stand the not knowing.

Congrats Jamie on losing some more and being close to virgin Atkins territory.

Womanpraised, Hang in there! I am an emotional eater too and know where you are coming from. So sorry you are going through this stressful time.

Wannabethintoo! Good job getting back into your exercise and getting in your groove. You are doing great!

Effie, I have been thinking of going for induction again too. It is hard, to say the least. You are doing great though. Hang in there!

Elsie, I always appreciate your honesty, encouragement and "tough love". Thanks for all you do!

Rybread, you are doing great! Cleaning out the closet and getting rid of the fat clothes is very encouraging and therapeutic. All my fat stuff is outta here cuz I am never going back there. Great thing is all my skinny clothes are WAY too big too.

Lotstolose--hang in there. TOM is a pain in more ways than one.

Cruisergal, glad you are feeling better. Good job on your weight loss.

                          suzyhomemaker, you look great!

I am proud of each and every one of you. What a great group! Sorry if I missed anyone.... I am not great on the computer, so this is the first time I have tried this.

You guys are so wonderful! Thank you for the kudos and the woohoos! I mean it. Coming here is such a happy place. Even when we're down, we're up, you know? I was soooo excited to come here as soon as I hit my third day at this weight!

Michelle (and you can quote me on this)-- weight is only extremely important if you're a Butterball turkey. And they have those pop-thingers to say when you're done.

{{{{{{{Tammy}}}}}}}}} Yay on the half pound down! Boooo and everyone being sick! *l* I just have to say it. I was worried when I didn't see you! I am so glad you're still around! Getting through illness intact is yet another one of your many victories! I applaud you, my friend!

I've missed you all. I have been VERY busy. However, I have not gained, but I have not loss either. My clothes are fitting very well, in fact, I purchased a size 14 jeans and they look very nice. My ultimate goal was to be in a size 12 and I'm thinking my goal here is to high. If it is okay with you all, can I change my target to loose 25 lbs by New Years? Thanks.
