    Re: ~~~Winter Onederland Challenge~~~

    I'm stlil here Rikki!

Just resting this weekend tho (its a holiday weekend here...Thursday - Saturday - back to work on Sunday ugh), because I think my body is reacting to the fact that I wasn't taking supplements or something...feeling so lethargic and not really good at all.... Just going to rest like I said and take care of myself for a few days but not go completely off the plan...

Will be back into force soon again...just need to stock up on all the right supplements as well, and get back into it again!!

You guys are doing great though! wtg!

      Re: ~~~Winter Onederland Challenge~~~

I hope you get to feelin better soon... at first I thought you might have the "induction flu" but if you have been doing this WOE strictly since oct 22, that should have passed by now...
      I love my supplements...

What supplements are you all taking?

      I take...
      Vitamin C
      Multivitamin without iron
      fish, flax, and borage oils
      super B complex(MY FAVORITE!)
      Potassium

      and water water water! LOL

OK, got TJ20 in for the day. Eating 1 egg with zucchini, mushroom, tomatoes with green chilis, and turkey bacon! Yum! All for only 200 calories! And its a plateful!!l I used a whole zucchini so it is higher in carbs, but... It will work!!! I made taco meat last night that I will take for lunch today... I gotta run catch up on other posts! TTYL!
Caution I BITE! clicky clicky..its tricky rikki!

          Re: ~~~Winter Onederland Challenge~~~

I'm still hangin in there. Doing good on my water and food intake. Lost count on the water yesterday--but know I drank A LOT!! Have not really experienced induction flu, which is a good thing cause I have 4 kids to take care of and can't imagine trying to do that while I feel awful

I am having all kinds of trouble with the muscle cramps--calves, shins, ankles, feet, toes I have been taking a calcium leg cramp formula, but still have almost continuous twitches. The twitches only happen when I do low carb. I do have a tendency for muscle cramps when I'm on my feet a lot normally but not nearly like it is with low carb. Any suggestions?

You guys are all doing great!! Keep it up! I don't know if I'll weigh myself on Monday or wait til 14 days of induction are done. I have a tendency to get into the hopping on the scale several times a day habit and would like to stop that. Also I work nights this weekend and my weight is always higher the morning after working.

            Kimmykins,

I would say that once you get started exercising that the cramps will lessen. The more fluid you can get into those muscles, the less likely they are to cramp up. I used to have Charley Horses all the time, but since Atkins and exercise I can now go a whole day without any. I think it is the increased blood flow to my previously unused muscles. Hang in there! You can do it!

Glad to see everyone is still doing great!! To those who just joined- welcome!~!!! So glad this thread is growing while we are shrinking

I am in Michigan with my family, but I am sick with a cold or flu or something, not too bad just enough to make me really lethargic and stuffed up.

I was down at 203 right before I left yesterday, that made me sooo happy!! But they don't have a scale here so I can't weigh myself this week. Maybe I should buy one to keep me honest while I am here? There's something about being around family that makes me want to eat a LOT! I don't know if it's the stress or the familiarity, or the association of when I grew up here I ate all the time?? Who knows.. my sisters say the same thing, whenever they visit home the first thing they do is open the fridge LOL. One of the mysteries of the universe I guess?

For the muscle cramps, you'll need to also find a good supplement of potassium!! The ones in the multi-vitamins don't cut it - they only provide like 2% of your daily requirement of potassium because they figure most people get enough in the foods they eat.. But unless you eat a lot of spinach all day long, chances are we dont get enough. The best thing I found that works for me is potassium glucomate (i'm not sure if that's the exact name or not, I don't have my bottle handy, but it's something like that).... It doeesnt have to be exactly that, but make sure you're taking something specifically for Potassium!! Take that ALONG with the calcium AND make sure you have magnesium and iron in there somewhere (you'll probably get those from your multi-vitamin though, which should be fine).

So to recap; be sure to have somewhere in the mix; POTASSIUM, CALCIUM, magnesium and iron.... along with your mutli-vits, and take them daily! If you have muscle cramps now it might take a few days of taking the vitamins before they stop.. sort of a lag.. these are the nutrients most important in muscle control. Remember in high school biology the calcium/potassium ion bridge or whatever that was, that our muscles use to contract and release? (this is pathetic, I majored in biology and I can't even remember properly the name of it LOL)

Anyway i hope that helps!!! You're doing great!

                    Mary-chan,

Glad to hear you made it to Michigan alright, but I am sorry to hear you are sick. Try to remember you can have broth so drink some of that and it might help some.

Yep, we have added new members! I love this board.

Mary- so glad you checked in (hugs) sorry you are sicky though!!!! Stay strong! When I am sick I like to make chicken noodle soup minus the carrots and noodles... I make egg noodles instead and they are pretty yummy! We must be right about on track because between this challenge and the last our start weights ond the last weigh was the same. An now I was at 202.4 this morning! Yeay! We manage to keep it pretty close though!!!

I completely agree. I take potassium EVERYDAY for the same reason! I get aweful leg cramps while I am sleeping or just about to fall asleep when I don't take it!

deb- Thanks for the compliments sweetie!!!

Well, I managed not to plan today and ended up working late and eating some mixed nuts. Not too bad but I would have rather not ate them! At least they were low carb!!!!

I think I am gonna make chicken tenders for dinner with buffalo sauce yum!!!

I always knew I loved spicy stuff, but since I started this Frank's Hot Sauce has become my new best flavor. I put it on almost everything!
