Starting this week good. All ready to be martyred on Thanksgiving. No one wants me to make anything. I quote "we want REAL holiday food, not that diet stuff".

So I plan to eat turkey and green salad. No issues!

Can I hear an amen for my sister, Woman-Praised?

      Listen.

I know we are all human, but I don't want to hear about how you ate something you weren't supposed to eat on Thanksgiving knowing full well you have time to practice "Just saying No".

I'm removing all that power you think you have right now to get one past me.

You'd better start thinking of all the lame excuses right now for why you think I'm not going to smack you upside the head when I see you ate some of the marshmallow yams.

Don't give me "But, cleo! I was walking through the dining room and I TRIPPED over the dog and my mouth fell open right on this plate of yams."

      No, no, no.

I don't want to hear you had to hide the pecans rolls in your bra to keep them warm for your husband. Honey, he can keep his own buns warm.

I don't want to hear you licked off the spoon that went in the mashed potatoes but you didn't inhale.

I don't want to hear that you didn't have relations with that woman, Sarah Lee, while you're touching her pie crust.

      uhn uhn uhn.

Thanksgiving should be the easiest exercise in self-control. You've got a turkey right there.

You don't need the stuffing. It came out of a dead bird's butt. Hello. Dead bird butt bread leavins?

And that cranberry sauce? Let's be real here. Cranberries are probably fine on the OWL rung, but if it came out of a can and looks like a nuclear cooling tower and makes a schlopp sound as it falls onto the plate, it had better not be on your fork.

That's right. Give me that look. Don't make me come over there.

Atta girl Womanpraised! You have a plan so I know you will be successful.

Remember everyone...right now we are in the middle of our battle. That spoonful, forkful..awww just a little taste won't hurt...that attitude is what got us in trouble with our weight in the first place. Will one tiny, teeny spoonful hurt ya?? You bet your bottom dollar it will!

It can do one of two things to you. It can throw you into a carb frenzy... I will start again Monday mode or you will get away with it and think you can do it again and next time it will be 2 spoonfuls..then 3..and before you know there you are right back where you started. In the midst of battle we need to stay strong. Stay true. I know we are supposed to keep our friends close and our enemies closer but this is not the time. Right now we are building our battle skills and taking baby steps...you have to crawl before you can walk and walk before you can run. So be good to yourselves. Give thanks you do have the choice to make good food choices and rejoice when you do!!

Okay...I got so inspired reading Womans post that I forgot to post the weight chart first...so off to do that!

                            Day One (again)(for me)

There's something pretty nefarious about those two words, "Day One". It sounds almost as though it's the first day after an amazingly bad asteroid hits the planet and wipes out half the population. Two syllables which are pretty unassuming, but sound as though a death knell ringing the beginning of the end for those left on the planet...well, and all the cockroaches. Though they live through anything.

Day One. We could look at day one as being the first Day God made something. He made light. Problem is, I look much better in dark things. Like night. Dark is very slimming. And on what day did He make the high-glycemic fruits and the Triscuits! Bad higher being! Bad, bad!

Oh. That was Nabisco with the Triscuits? Sorry.

Day One. We could look at day one as being the first day of many 'something goods', but to be truthful I really dislike starting things over. It usually means I did something wrong and am having to atone for this now by having to reglaze something, rewrite something or regain lost ground for something.

I think I might just skip the whole Day One thing. Maybe I'll call this TFDWEN or WTSGSDGTT. I mean, it's not as easy to pronounce, but the sentiment is less germanic and simplistic in its ironic doom. And I've always been a fan of saying more when less is really required, and especially when I can employ the letter "T".

                            I like "T".

So here's to The First Day Without Egg Nog; or Well There She Goes, She's Going To Do Great.
