Re: Mid-Year Resolution Challenge, December 3-10

I don't know how it happened....and fully did not expect it but I am down 1 pound this week!!!!! Amazing. I would have been happy with maintaining but would have had to accept responsiblity if it had gone up this week with all the eating I did. I have been on plan yesterday and the day before and that is what probably saved my butt!!

So that is the 3 pounds that Cleo asked from each of us. Now I will try to give her the other 3...but will be happy with what I get as we have TWO Christmas dinners. One at MIL's house and we go there the day before so I am at her mercy at what she serves. And then one on Boxing Day at my Brother's. It is not the dinners I am worrying about...though I sure will miss the stuffing!!!! But the treats and snacks sitting around before and after dinner. SIGH!!

      Hey guys, how's it going?

Yay Elsie, on that one pound!

I'm still working away. I'm stuck as stuck can be at 145.5 lbs again, but at least I know this is normal now. LOL. I don't think I'm gonna meet my [new] NYE goal of 139lbs at this rate, but I think at the very least I may fit into a size 10! My 12s are pretty loose, and requires a belt on the smallest notch every day... hm!

        Thanks Rybread.

I am bearer of great news for you. Your NYE goal is NOT 139! It is ACTUALLY 145!!! So you are only .5 pounds away!!!! You can still do it there is time left!! Would love to have you join me at goal...and Toni will make you a ribbon too!!! How is that for incentive????

Hehe, I know, I know. When I hit 145.5 lbs, I decided to try and work for 139 lbs by NYE -- I guess I should just work on hitting 145 lbs first, eh?

I'm hoping to be rid of that .5lbs by Monday - I'm working hard for it, at least! Cross your fingers.

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Challenge, December 3-10

Ok I'm officially hiding my scale until sunday when I weigh in and then I'm hiding it again until the next sunday.I admit it.I'm a scale addict and it's ruining my life. All I can think about are the numbers on the scale.Every morning I jump out of bed and hop on the scale to see what I weigh, and that dictates how my day is going to be like.No more.I'm putting it away and not stepping on it till the requisite weigh in days(sundays). If I stick to plan, then I will lose weight. There is no reason for me to be so obsessed with the scale. It's ridiculous.I realized also that even though I said I wouldn't put a time frame on my weightloss,in my head I was still doing it.And it was being aided by the help of the scale. So no more stepping on the evil scale until sunday, and then after that, every sunday to follow.

Good to have a plan Lots2lose! I used fitday yesterday and today...first time since Nov 10...so that is good for me. I, too, am a scale addict. But not as strong as you so not ready to wean myself yet. But I don't get too hung up on it and only count the Thursdays as that is my weigh day. Then again I do not jump up and down with my weight either. It stays pretty steady it seems. I am glad for that!

I am so SAD!!! There is a deer stuck on the ice across the lake and Conservation won't help it. I can't get to it myself. And DH isn't home and it will be too late by the time he gets here. The coyotes and eagles will get it soon. They say "Not much we can do but let nature take it's course." My heart is breaking!!!!

Re: Mid-Year Resolution Challenge, December 3-10

I am sobbing here...a person phoned to update me about the deer. The conversation people were out here yesterday apparently and thought maybe the deer had a chance to get off the ice as it was young and still fighting. They can't rescue it as it was too far out and the ice isn't thick enough for them to attempt to go out there. So they gave it the chance to make it on its own or die trying...now because of my phone call they are going to come out and kill it as they say usually these deer pull something that makes them not walk when they try for too long and end up splay legged. So now this deer is going to be killed because of me!!!! I feel so responsible for this animal dying!!!! I spirally here...

                        It looks like everyone's losing!

Lots2Lose- I'm with you! I'm not weighing myself until the 18th (when Boot Camp's over).

Elsie - I don't know what to say to make you feel better, but when I was 14 years old, I found a seagull that had an injured wing. I scrambled around desperately and the neighborhood kids joined in to find help. When we returned to it 10 minutes later, a vehicle ran over it (we were in the alley). That was devastating. *pats you on shoulder*

My day was...alright. I didn't sleep much last night, or the night before because I've begun to take the Effexor (thanks to the encouragement I recieved here at the board). I'm yawning all the time, and I've lost my appetite. I'm obsessing over the Tony Little Gazelle. It's impossible to get one in Canada, and I have to wait for the bidding to be over on Ebay.

Anyway, I'm glad on the road to getting my OCD and Depression under control. I also applied for a job at The Book Company today.

                          Kinkay

**HUGS**... been there. It not just a huge step to get the scrip for the meds, but an even bigger one to go ahead and take them... stay close to your doctor... keep how you FEEL journaled, in case you need a dose adjustment, they know how you are reacting when. I was only on the meds for a short time, and it really helped.

oh Elsie.. am so sorry. It is hard when we are so used to being able to fix things, to make things right and to help make everything better, when there is a situation when we cant. YOU didnt get the deer stuck, and if it is going to maim itself, they arent being mean to it because of your call, you gave them a chance to be humane, and prevent it from suffering. You did the right thing, and I wish I could be there to bring you some tea, or coffee, or something.

I am doign okay. My dad lost his job and so is now home all day on the computer, which means that I can't get on it, unless they are out.

I am not doing well, eating wise. I SEE the wagon. I COULD jump back on. I DONT KNOW WHAT THE HEL:L is wrong with me, but we shall see. No loss, no gain, but no progress. Exercise is okay, but I am not giving it my fire-driven all, either.

I think I realized a couple things... I am burnt out of salad and salad veggies, and that is a huge mental block... I cant get past it. And water is the key for me. If I am drinking my water, chances are I am eating right. If I am reaching for my coffee... then it is probably going along with some cordial cherries.

Thank you Kinkay and Woman for taking time to make me feel better. Yesterday was a very hard day for me. I did run to the food but managed to keep it to popcorn and mandarin oranges and the scale stayed the same so hopefully not too much damage done. As for that poor deer, the conservation guuy never showed up and I am pretty sure it died during the night. The crows and eagles are there but not too close to it yet so not sure.

                                Anyway..thank you again!!

Kinkay...now would probably be a good time to journal feelings...what you ate and start keeping track at www.fitday.com put the OCD to good use ;^). Did you win the ebay bid? Be aware you might have to pay duty on that. I have gotten some things from the states shipped here to BC and sometimes get dinged duty. Good luck on getting the job at the book place! Let us know!!

Woman...hope you Dad gets another job soon so you can get back on the puter!!! I hear you with the salads. I have just gotten back to them after a long break. But I did try to still get my vegies in. Try a broccoli or cauliflower salad...it might seem different enough without the lettuce.

                                Drink your water!!!
