  • Bellys be GONE Challenge

Anybody willing to join me? :wave

I have committed to dong 100 crunches per night on my exercise ball. I started on Monday, completed my goal on Monday evening, and Tuesday evening. I will also be stepping my cardio up -- crunches won't do it alone!!

If you are interested -- you can set your own regimen, as long as you are doing something to help contribute to shrinking your waistline. All you have to do is post your starting waist and/or abdomen measurements and the current (as it changes). Um... I think on a weekly basis may work. I've never done this before, so forgive me if it sounds stupid. LOL I'm just desperate to attack this belly.

    MY MEASUREMENTS:
    Starting Waist: 36"
    Starting Abdomen: 39"

(oh... to measure your waist, place the tape around your natural waist, navel level. to measure your abdomen, measure approx. 2 inches below your navel.)

    BELLYS BE GONE!! :icondance [/b]

Yes, count me in too! I don't know if I could start at 100 crunches, that may be too much for me just starting out, I may kill myself the first night! But I will try my darndest!

I think these are my measurements, I haven't checked in a while. When I get home from work I will remeasure to make sure.

        Waist 35"
        Stomach 40"

Welcome Lorgaker- I don't know about a hundred crunches either. I don't think its a requirement. You can do any exercise that will contribute to trimming your waistline. Right now I mostly use the treadmill, and I tried out pilates for the first time today, it's more of a work-out than I thought it would be. Something else I do is jump-rope....another good one!

My main goal is to get rid of this belly roll I've aquired.

Should we set a deadline and goal measurements??

Sure, a check in day would be cool. Whichever day you guys want. And thank you for the welcome Langford! Much appreciated. Hmmm, I wonder if I can find my jumprope! I have an eliptical trainer and a treadmill, I just have to make myself use them! I like to do leg lifts along with regular crunches, they work the lower abs a lot better. I remeasured when I got home,

              waist - 35
              stomach - 39

It sure would be nice to get that 39 down! I feel pregnant most of the time!

Well maybe the person who started the challenge will stop by and we can see what she'd like to do. Good chance she may be away from the computer for a few days considering the Holiday.

I sooo know what you mean about feeling pregnant. In the past I always gained weight in my arms, thighs, and rear. I somehow always managed to keep a flat stomach and decent waistline.....hmmm that was before I turned 30 too ensive

Ugghhh yep the belly has got to go!

HI MY BBG CHALLENGEES!!! :wave :wave

I'm so excited you both decided to join me!! :joy :joy I think a check in day would be great, how about on Wednesdays?? And, as far as the goal measurements go, I'm not quite sure how to go about that -- do we just stab in the dark at it? I remember a long time ago, I used to have a 28 inch waist... LMAO....that was back during a time when i surely didn't appreciate the smaller body i had, so I rarely paid much attention to my measurements. :confused

Oh, by the way... I have a girlfriend that has done this WOL very successfully, and she does 500 crunches a day. Personally, I think that's a bit excessive. But, in response to you both.... she said she couldn't even do 10 straight when she first started. Over time, she just kept pushing herself......

I also know this is true from acquiring a physical trainer. When I first started, I couldn't do a lot of things -- my muscles were weak, my endurance was null and void. But over days and weeks... it's AMAZING how your body changes and adapts to the ways that you push it!!! :icondance :icondance :icondance :icondance

...oh by the way... I missed doing my crunches last night --- I think I'm doing to do my pilates tape today, too.

                    good suggestion, Langford :nod

Hi Ladies, I did the treadmill yesterday for 20 mins, and then whipped out the pilates video for the first time. I'm feeling it in my abs now!

I did the treadmill again today, but thats about it.

I really don't know about goal measurements either.... are we going to do the challenge until the bellies are all gone or are we going to set a challenge end date? If so then I guess we could each decide where we would like I measurements to be by that date. I would love to lost atleast 10 inches in my waist....I really don't know where my abs should be as far as measurements go.

I'm going to start doing 20 crunches a night and work my way up. I will start this on Monday.

                      HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

Wishing you both a Safe and Happy Holiday

Hello again! Wednesday is good for me. I like the idea of having a time limit. I think it would push me a little more to do it. I missed a couple of days as I was out of the country having a tattoo worked on. I am not supposed to workout until it is healed (no sweat can get on it you see) but crunches are okay. So I will be starting tonight. I have no idea what to set as a goal for my waist! Maybe a few inches to start? I'm not sure what it is supposed to be. Anyhoo, talk to you guys later!

How about each of us decide what measurements we want to reach, then challenge ourselves to reach those goals by say Labors Day or Thanksgiving.....something like that.

Ok I'm doing my pilates for dummies tape and 1 hour on the treadmill. I want to see how that works for me.

My waist is currently at a 31 but I've lost a few more pounds and I think inches as well due to the fact that my clothes is fitting even more loose than what it was before.

I will reach my goal no matter what obstacles stand in my way.
