Getting or got control of food? Still working on it? Think it is about time to get control of the house? Living in CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome)?

Join me as we tackle our homes for 15 minutes a day. I will post what the chore is from FlyLady here. You can choose to do that chore or 15 minutes of your own choice. It is up to you. You can join her yahoo group here FlyLadyMentors-subscribe@yahoogroups.com or just come here for the chore of the day if you don't feel like joining her group. I will also post her 31 steps for beginners...one for each day this month. Then when you have done your 15 minutes you just check in here that you have completed the task.

So who is with me?? And do you have any other suggestions to make this challenge better??

Yeah..I hear you...I keep subbing and unsubbing but it has helped in spots around here. She does have lots of email but I will post the task of the day here..in bold and bigger letters if I can figure out how to do that and then no one has to be bothered with all the reminders and stories unless they want them..then they can subscribe themselves.

        Day 1

        Go Shine your sink.

        http://flylady.net/pages/FLYingLessons_Shine.asp

After you do this; you will keep it shiny by drying it out after each
time you use it and making sure when you go to bed that it is shining so
it will make you smile in the morning. This is how I get to hug you each
day! That shiny sink is a reflection of the love that you have for
        yourself.

Our FlyLady system is all about establishing little habits that sting
together into simple routines to help your day run on automatic pilot.
        You can do this!

        From Elsie:
I don't think there are tasks posted on the weekend....so an easier start for us today. I shined my sink and cleaned all my dishes last night. It was so nice to walk into a clean kitchen this morning. Only trouble is now I really don't want to cook because that will mess it up..LOL!

                  Re: OT:FlyLady Challenge/January

I loved the ideas of the FlyLady. I loved the shiny sink think and the 10 items fling. I think it was 10 things a day. The emails did get out of control, but they were needed at the start. Thanks for doing this. I will check in and do the tasks. My entry ways and dining are totally fine. I can't wait 'til she assigns chores in the computer room/office. That's where I let things pile up. I have three desks in here and two of them are just storing things on the surface! If our surroundings are in order, it's easier to keep health at the forefront of our minds.

                    Welcome Mandilee!

Here is what she is working on for Jan. Remember that just like Atkins we need to tweak it here and there to get it to work for us. For instance I might not do the dining room as that is part of my living room but I think I will add my back porch in and hallway instead. Hmmm...office...that would fall under other room. I will dread that one. I have a craft/puter room and it is too bad even for Clean Sweep!

I'm in too. I have major clutter problems....I can't get rid of anything.

                        BABY STEP FOR DAY 2
I will post the task when I get it. No jammie day tomorrow...LOL!

                        Day 2

Today I want you get up and get dressed to lace up shoes when you first
get up in the morning. This means fix your hair and face too.

In order for us to change ourselves we need to remind ourselves of what
we are doing. I did this with yellow sticky notes throughout my home to
guide me through my day. This was the beginning of my home control
journal. I had little notes on my bathroom mirror to remind me to get
dressed to shoes. When you see the many reminders in your inbox from
Yahoo; just think of them as yellow sticky notes. You don't have to do
them yet; they are just there as a little reminder. Read the subject line
and you will be absorbing the flow of them. Do not allow those voices in
your head to say this can't possible work with so many emails. Then when
you hear those voices say I don't have time. Set a timer for 2 minutes
and just read a little and then delete at will.

Shine your sink before you go to bed.

OMGosh! I'm glad I'm not a craftsy person or all that stuff would be with me here, too! I understand the tweeking part, but sometimes it might be my pass to just do the throwing out part. What I did love about the emails? The warnings to get up from the computer and do something! Does she still do that? I may have to subscribe for a while to see how it's going. But I'll pop in here each day for my true assignment! BTW, thanks for the welcome!

Oh, ladies... If this is your first time doing this, you'll have such fun. Really! To this day: I clean all my sinks AND dry them each night. I do a fifteen minute clutter cleanup each day. I make the bed before going downstairs, and I get dressed all the way to the feet before starting the day. These are habits now. Now... you want to learn my dirty little secret that works and the FlyLady will never catch me!? I fold clothes as soon as they're out of the dryer, but I don't always put them away. I even have a closet pole hanging from the ceiling down cellar for hanging clothes right away. My ironing board is always set up down there. Well, with this system, it's possible to just go get dressed where the laundry is. Dirty clothing just gets thrown in the set-tub and doesn't clutter bedrooms or hang around waiting to be put in linen closets. Hey, it works!
