      Wow! 8 lbs!That is great!

The strict induction is going well so far. For some reason though, I have been really hungry! I am sticking with it though, no cheating, but it is really tempting.

There are different recipes for the mock danish here on the site. My favorite is:

2 oz cream cheese (soften in microwave aprox 20 seconds)
      1 tsp vanilla
      1 pkg splenda
cinnamon (I again just shake some in)
      1 egg

      mix well

      microwave for 1 1/2 mins.

I also have skipped the vanilla and cinnamon and put cocoa in instead. It was not bad that way either, but I prefer the cinnamon.

      Hope you like.

Thanks for the recipe. I love cinnamon.

I am making a cake to feed 30 people and the icing is a trouble spot. I can't wait to deliver and run!!!!

            Hi Teri!
You are welcome for the recipe (I try to find as many as possible to help with not getting bored with the change in eating). Have you had a chance to try either?

I am doing pretty good this beautiful (lower 70s day here). I took my girls to the park today and had a great time. Yesterday, I took them ice skating. So, I have been out and about. It is nice with the weather getting warmer. I feel like I get so much more 'real movement time' when the weather is nice. Of course, it means I do not get on the treadmil (falling really behind on my goal there). Oh well, at least I am moving though.

So, I have been being bad and stepping on the scale everyday since I gave up cream and cheese. I was doing pretty good (not great) with the loss, but last night I had Kielbasa (sp?) and I gained .6 lbs. I knew there were trace (small trace) amounts of sugar in it, but was not sure the carb count. I usually skip it, because it is so hard to find good Kielbasa anyway. However, my MIL went in to the store and the 'original old time' owner was in there helping and he had made it (first time in 5 years) I just could not pass it up! My husband grew up on the stuff and it smelled so good. I only had a couple of pieces, I would not even have guessed a 1/2 a pound, since I only cooked 1 lb to begin with. I guess the rest is going to have to stay in the freezer until I am in pre-maintenance.
Maybe it was just the salt making me hold water? Anyway, it is not worth it for me to gain weight. I figure it should leave close to as fast as it came, but I was so hopeing it would be okay and we could enjoy some more often.

Oh well, gotta run! Hope you have a great weekend!

Oh, I wanted to mention another 'vice' I have used:

              2 oz cream cheese
              1 pkt splenda
              cocoa (to taste)

It might help if you have caused yourself too much craving making that cake with frosting. It is not bad at all. I wonder if vanilla and cinnamon would taste like a cinnomon frosting... hmmm, I will have to try that.

Yep, I do the cream cheese/splenda/cocoa thing too. Sometimes you just need a treat and it's "safe" because I can't eat too much of it without it getting a funky taste - the splenda I think.

Our husbands must be related. He also grew up eating keilbasa and not the smoked kind either. They did have that but it's the fresh stuff he craves. MIL brings it when she visits and no matter how many ice packs are in that bag you can smell it from a long ways away! The brand in CT that they get is Janik - can't find anything close here in VA. And I also hold onto a lot of water when I eat it, sausage too, so I try to limit both.

                Have a great weekend!

I'm here to try and talk myself down off the ledge. You know those days where you just think you're going to go crazy if you don't eat all the carbs in the house???? I did treat myself to a cappuccino this morning and counted 10 carbs for it. Had a small breve one at Starbucks later on for 7 more. With the veggie carbs carefully counted in I don't have any room to mess up and that one mini chocolate donut for 7 more carbs was what is sending me over the edge. I poured a big glass of 0-carb peach tea crystal light to give myself some sweetness HOPING it will keep me in check. And I'm going to walk around the block as soon as I sign off. Aaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, "step away from the donut! " ... remember that old taco bell commercial... I hope you kept yourself from the temptation. I know how hard it is. I actually had some peanuts and sunflower seeds last night... I had made Whiteing fish for dinner (I hated it, so I ate very little of it). I was so hungry and with it being Friday, did not have much to 'snack' on that was induction friendly... so much for strict induction. I did still stay within the 20 carbs for the day. Fridays are so hard for me. I really am not big on fish... do you have any non-fish, non-meat ideas for Fridays?

LOL... Drop the chalupa! I went for a short walk and then dug around in the planting beds - turned the soil over, added peat, and then put in the three peonies I'd picked up at the nursery earlier in the day. It did the trick and maybe I burned a calorie or two. Certainly didn't do my fingernails any good!

On Fridays I stick with my favorite omelet - red bell peppers and a little onion sauted and then 2 eggs whipped and poured over. I add some cheddar or american cheese at the last minute and fold it over. I never get sick of it. The pepper will burn easily but I like it just this side of burned so it works for me! The family gets pasta. They never get sick of that and I don't get the shakes anymore or feel sorry for myself that I can't have any. I don't much like cooking two dinners but at least this way I can eat my own whenever I want. Usually that's after work and before I start theirs. That way I'm not starving and picking at things I shouldn't. Not that I'm alway great at staying away from it but it helps.

I joined the April Abs Challenge too so another month of crunches will help. There's a stability ball in the house so maybe I'll try using that too. Will have to pray it doesn't pop and land me on the floor with a broken hip!!!!

Abs challenge, you brave women you! I did ab work for two days at the beginning of March.... I haven't done another since. (I need one of those smilies with the bag over their head. )

Happy to hear you found something to keep you from eating. It really would not have been worth it. Of course, I am so tempted to have some hot cocoa with cream right now. The cream is just screaming my name. I stepped on the scale and loss the weight I had gained. So far, I have lost 2 lbs since Sunday morning last week. Though I am sure tomorrow, the scale will be higher (since I am probably going to eat a late dinner). I always weigh more on Sunday morning than any other. My husband picked the 'weigh in day', I hate the day myself.... but oh well, at least he is doing this with me. 2 lbs is a great loss for me, it is the most I have lost since the first two weeks. So giving up the cream and cheese was a definate plus for me. But does not stop me from wanting it!

Hopefully, I can be like you and 'step away'... I need to get the girls fed and in the tub, so maybe that will help.

And don't go and break any hips!

Gotta get to work on the abs challenge. It will help in recovery from too much food yesterday. Being on target for carb counts doesn't mean that too much food isn't too much food!!!

Weigh in day went well. I lost 2 lbs! Definately worth me staying away from the cheese/cream. I am thrilled with the loss. I hope you do good on the abs challenge.

I have to log in 100 crunches. And my exercise today is going up and down the stairs. We got a new washer delivered this morning and I've a lot of catching up to do so there are many trips up and down in my immediate future!
