Joan ... I think you have come up with a brilliant idea! It makes so much sense! Kind of like that KISS (keep it simple stupid) principle.

On the kidney stone front ... its always the little things in life that can cause the most havoc!!

Your idea sounds like a good one. We all take it one pound at a time, one goal at a time, one inch at a time and we will make goal.

I can't believe the kidney stone was the size of a coffee ground, I thought it would be big enough to make jewelry out of!

        whats a bump?

When you "bump" a thread or post, it just makes it go to the top of the list of recent posts, so it gets more attention (hopefully).

We need more opinions on the Challenge!! I'll check back this afternoon. Have to go clean house for awhile -- now that I've stated my clean house is an 8, LOL, I'm feeling obligated to make sure that's true!! LOL (This is in a thread called HOW CLEAN IS YOUR HOUSE?)

Being a former R.N. (Registered Nurse) I know how itsy bitsy a kidney stone is and how MEGA the pain is. I have seen a HUGE professional football player (and I mean HUGE, the man was a walking mountain!!! :yikes ) crumble like a cookie and sob like a little boy when trying to pass the stone between his morphine injections!

Re: Changing the focus of the Challenge. For me the two things, journal in Fitday and drink the water, seemed to sort of go hand in hand, kind of like the unit that I found difficult to do. So I will stick to that.

As for the concept of "one thing at a time", yes, I think that it's a good one.

As of tomorrow I will be out of touch for one week. The fishing camp we go to has no electricity. I am looking forward to getting away. See you all in a week.

              Hi Joan,

Sorry for not responding. For some reason I am not recieving notifications of my watched topics.

I think your idea is wonderful!! It would be nice to know that you have developed a good 'habit'. Thanks for going to all the trouble of doing this challenge for us. It has helped me in more ways than one.
I'm feeling better about myself everyday.

              Hugs,Tammy

ps..I'm so sorry about your DH's kidney stone. My brother suffers with them and the one that I seen was the size of a small green pea.. He pulled up in his truck, opened the door, and fell out on the ground unconcious. We got him to ER and spent 12 hours waiting for that thing to pass. Finally they took him in to surgery and retrieved it. OUCH.
He has had them several times and they are a scary thing for a man.
I hope your DH drinks up and is on the mend.

JoanOH - Glad to hear your husband is doing better. Mine has never had kidney stones but he will writhe and cry in pain when his gallbladder acts up but is too scared to get the thing removed!

I think starting with one challenge and building upon it is a good idea.

I have got to give up splenda and whipping cream - I'm addicted!

Well I've been missing in action for a week or so. My DH came home from his TDY and I'm trying to adjust to life with a spouse and Atkins. I've pretty much blown my goals out of the water this week with exception to laying off the cream. I haven't been measuring at all, however eyeballing honestly says I ain't doing too bad. He is starting to enjoy the meals and picking right up to eating what I eat when I eat it. Very supportive, and having him around helps with portion control. Kind of hard to scarf food down while someone is complimenting you on your weight loss and physical appearence changes. I have been stuck at the same general weight for a few weeks now varying 2lbs day to day. I have started OWL but haven't gone past 25 carbs cause I have stalled on loss. However, I am adding new foods along the rungs in moderation. Those I have been sure to measure. I had 2tbsp of low carb peanut butter the other day, GOD, I think it may have been better than the welcome home sex. LOL

I am in need for "kicking it up a notch" too!

My weight loss slowed a bit down because I was eating those damn frankenfood bars. :sadblinky I am going to take on this challenge and go back into a clean 20-week induction. The first time I started this WOE, I had lots of stuff I shouldn't during induction, but this time I am going to go by the book. I am not giving up this close to my goal!

P.S. I could never do this without everyone's inspiration on ha
You are all doing great, keep it up!

                              Stop making excuses

I'm going to stop makings excuses for my cheating. And only going to hold myself accountable if I do which I dont plan on doing.I'm constantly making excuses like(I chated because I was hungry, or stressed, or there wasn't anything else to eat) excuses, excuses, excuses. And its going to stop.
