YIPPEE!!! I can't believe it! I lost 5 pounds this week! That puts me in a new decade. Very exciting to now be 177.
About 6 years ago I got down to 178 for a couple of weeks for a wedding and then shot back up quickly from there. To be below that is has been about 16 years!!! Very exciting.
    Have a great day.

Also, for those of you who like diet rite but are trying to not drink it, this helped me at the store last time: I didn't go down that aisle, and i didn't buy it at all, so the only thing i can drink is water and what i do is put it in a sports bottle with ice, and it's just really refreshing! what a difference it makes too on the swollen hands and puffy face in the a.m.!
(That's a question for you all: Do you all wake up with it being hard to put on your rings in the a.m.?...are you slightly swollen in the a.m., or not? for some reason, i have always been that way in the a.m.)
Please let me know when you get a sec.
      Thanks!
Wonderwoman, I don't bring it in the house much, it's when I'm out running around that I give in. Hmm...I don't feel swollen in the morning. Are you hot when you wake up? Maybe someone else knows something. Good job having a plan for your water consumption.

Elsie!!! It does feel so good to reach a new decade, especially when it is an all time LOW. Or was so long ago that it seems like an all time low! WAY TO GO GIRL!!!!!!!

1.) Weight: Go down one dress size by Mother's Day

2.) Exercise: Ride Bike 3x's a week AND find a walking partner
3.) Extras: Absolutely No cheating and limit Diet Rite to one per week!
I have found a walking partner and am starting tomorrow. That only leaves one more of my goals to be reached by Mother's Day and that is going down one dress size. Of course I will have to continue not cheating or drinking more than one Diet Rite a week, but that is getting easier. Diet Rite tastes too sweet now.I will be so happy if I have to make new goals before the end of this challenge!!!

          Hope you're all doing great!

Thanks Trying2lose!! Sounds like you are doing great too!

I am not swollen in the mornings unless I have had high salt the day before or have not drank my 12 cups of water.

Elsie!!! GREAT accomplishment! My gosh, you must feel like you are on top of the world. You go girl! Keep up the great work!
Tryin2lose, yes, i do feel hot in the a.m. What do you think this may mean?

Didn't have such a great day today. I started off pretty well, then stress happens here with the kids, and I do find myself picking at the kids ice cream (I know, i can't believe that either. ice cream is an absolute NO NO!),etc.

So....this is it. I really want this. I sat down tonite by myself and was trying to figure out why i do a few days of clean induction, and then i slip up. I can't seem to find the underlying issue that is causing this, since i know, that hitting goal will "taste better" than a bite of someone's icecream. I'm a smart person. I know better.
Maybe it's something that i'm eating that is causing my cravings...
Does anyone have any suggestions on tasty snacks that dull cravings/appetites?
Thanks for any help. Also, do i need to start all over tomorrow for a 14 day induction? I can't seem to find my DANDR.
Thanks again for the help...check in tomorrow....

Thanks you guys! The positive feedback really motivates me so please know I do appreciate it!

Wonderwoman...I can't answer your question fully...sorry...here is what I think though. If you have really been slipping up and in essence not really doing Atkins then yes...start over. If by slipping up you mean you were good for a couple of days and today you ate a spoonful of icecream then no...but don't cheat again. You are only cheating yourself.

I would hazzard to guess that it is the spoonful of icecream that is causing your cravings. Or diet pop if you are drinking that...only my guess as you haven't posted your menu. The reason for doing a clean 2 weeks of induction is that it really does help stop the cravings. Think of it this way...you are a junkie...your drug of choice is carbs...or sugar....now you are trying to quit...to get your life in order but the drug keeps calling your name...do you choose to feed the drug and stay addicted or do you choose to fight the cravings so you can lead a healthy life and so you say no and you kill a little bit of your addiction...and say no again and kill it a bit more. So what are you going to do? Feed it and stay a junkie or say no and be clean?? Your choice!

Something that stops the cravings is tuna and mayo. I read it over and over again. Don't know why...but apparently some swear it even helps with chocolate cravings. Probably the high fat is more satisfing to your body. Another thing is drink your water. I drink MINIMUM 12 cups a day...this makes a difference. Also have breakfast...I don't care if you aren't hungry...eat it! Then when it is lunch time...make your salad...(use romaine or spinach something healthier like that...some cucumber...some tomato...a green onion and full fat dressing and some protein...chicken..you can make like a chicken ceasar salad. Or add some hamburger sprinkled with a bit of cyenne pepper for a kind of taco salad. If you are hungry before supper...have an oz of cheese...or a hardboiled egg with mayo...or your tuna and mayo. Supper...1 cup vegie....another salad...don't skip it! And some protein. Drink your water. 4 cups before lunch. 4 cups or more before dinner. The rest after..then drink another cup.

Okay....that is it... I hope it helped you at least a bit. I will be away from the puter for the next couple of days so everyone be good and be supportive as you would like others to be to you!

                Remember you are worth it!!!

Elsie - Congratulations on your new weight loss! You go girl. It's so rewarding when you hit that weight that you havent been in a really long time. Keep it up!

Wonderwoman - don't get discouraged, I just started a clean induction over myself. I think the key is to not beat yourself up, and just pick up where you left off. Your not a failure, just got a little off track. It's alot easier to do that than convince yourself you have to start over. I agree with Elsie though, if you need to just get yourself back on track with a clean induction! Good luck my dear!

Hope everyone is having a great week and sticking to their goals!

                    Elsie and Mellyissa,
Thank you so very much for your posts. WHat great advice and suggestions, and encouragement. I really needed that! In fact, i'm going to print that thread out so that i have it with me to re-read on occasion. I really do owe it to myself, and Elsie, you are so right about feeding the addiction. I AM a carb junkie, but as you said, the ONLY way to not want carbs is to not eat them. I haven't since my thread, and i feel like a million bucks already. Have been eating lots of salads with chicken and blue cheese dressing and also, am LOVING chx wings with blue cheese dressing lately. I don't put any wing sauce on mine. Goes well with celery sticks. I hope i never get sick of blue cheese dressing! It's done great for my cravings, but now, ir eally don't have any carb cravings at all. Great news.
Great work you all on your goals. I'll start posting on Fitday. I just checked it out for the first time, and hope this will help me stay organized a bit with my goals and all.
Happy Weeekend. We're taking the kids to an Easter Egg hunt today. They're going to have a blast!

Well...here is my reality check. On April 6th I weighed in at my lowest in 16 years...177. Between self sabatoge and Easter I managed to illegally eat my way back up to 194. And when I saw that number it really scared me and I am back on the wagon. Back down to 185. I have a sad sad feeling that that 8 pound difference is real poundage and I will now have to deal with getting back to where I was such a short time ago and that it will take me longer to take it off than it did to put it on. Lesson learned.
