Wow, time really flew on this challenge. No sweetners over the weekend!

I would have to say that I was good about 75-80% of the time. My biggest downfalls were diet drinks if we dined out, and the cream/splenda in my weekday coffee.

Thank you Pammie for coming up with this challenge and the cute graphics that went along with it. Glad to hear that everyone had some success!

Starting from today, Monday, September 27, I am on another one-week no sweetener challenge.

So, I had a sugar free raspberry syrup mixed with water on Sunday, September 26. Sorry. :sadblinky

          Hi all,

First of all a big thank you to everyone who particiapted in this challenge! I sure hope you got something out of it.

As for me, well, I wasn't perfect...I gave in to that sweet tooth a few times, but that is ok with me. I learned that I can control. I went from having diet coke once a day to just 2x in two weeks. I went fron 2-3 sweetnened coffees a day, to drinking my decaf black, and limiting those too just 2.

So I am pretty happy, it is now Me who is in control of the sweetners...instead of the other way around!

thaks again for the support :hug

I'm way too late to report (sorry!!) but will anyway, just to sign off. With the exception of the one day before Boot Camp started, I stayed sweetener free. I am now actually used to drinking my coffee with just cream, and drinking my tea just plain now! I even got used to my flat-tasting flax cereal after a few days.

From this point on, I intend to use sweeteners only as an ingredient in foods -- such as flax muffins -- where the benefits of the food outweigh the effects of the sweetener (does that make sense?). For example -- flax muffins without the sweetener are a cross between grated cardboard and sawdust. With sweetener, they add fiber to my diet (which I need on a daily basis).... in order to be able to eat the muffins, I must add sweetener so...

I did lose 2.4 lbs this week -- and I have lost about 2 lbs a week since I cut back and/or stopped using sweetener!

Funny thing is, I was one of those "I use sweeteners and I still lose weight" people -- You don't really know what the stuff does to you until you STOP using it!!!

              Hi Guys,

Congrats to all on your challenge. Just so you know, I haven't deleted this thread (or locked it). Since the challenge is technically over, I just made it a "normal" thread instead of a sticky.
