Sounds like things are going well Chynna, nice job! Yesterday was another good day, and without really thinking about, I haven't had a soda yet. Doesn't bother me at all. I've been so busy at work, finding time to stop for a break isn't even an option.
I didn't get quite as much water as I would have liked yesterday, but I did get some. Will definitely make it a priority today. I had 3 cheesburgers for lunch, and for dinner I had grilled chicken and a salad. That's pretty much it. I didn't go running last night, the kids and work simply wore me out. I'd have to say my energy level is still pretty good. Hoping it will continue that way.
I need to make sure I'm getting my allowed vegetables. I never really ate them the last few times I did induction, and I have read in numerous places that you need to eat at least some of the allowed foods.
Are you eating your veggies, or is it not a real issue with you?

:ThumbsUp Great job on minimizing your soda intake! That's OK if you didn't get in as much water as you would've liked. What matters is that you are at least drinking the minimum. I also understand that you were too tired to get in any exercise yesterday. You have your job, your home and your family to take care of too. For us women, that should definitely count as exercise! lol

I'm checking in a bit late today than usual. I had some important things to take care of downtown. Luckily, I only live about 3km from there, so it's a great aerobic workout walking to and from that area! I will be doing the same tomorrow, so I count that as my exercise. Especially since I haven't been able to go to the gym for a while :sadblinky

I'm still holding strong and haven't had any of my "forbidden" foods! YOO HOO! I DID, however, have an 8oz mug of decaf green tea, unsweetened. It's only got about 5% caffeine in it and it's the first time since starting induction that I decided to have a cup. I usually drink 1 to 1.5L of it a day, but I'm trying to avoid ALL caffeine.

I had to go get my bloodwork done today. I hope it's only a slight case of anemia and not Thalassamie! I also submitted my sample for the candida testing so that I can get some medication for it. I have to go back on Monday for the results.

Are you eating your veggies, or is it not a real issue with you?
Veggies are not an issue for me. I usually fix a salad with lunch or dinner, or both sometimes. I also try to get in some broccoli or cauliflower at least once a day. Sometimes I enjoy having a fried tomatoe with breakfast or some sliced cucumbers. Plus, the more veggies I make, the more veggies my 2yr old eats. Thank goodness she isn't a picky eater!

:joy Another good day yesterday. Got my 100 ozs of H2O, ate pretty well, and ran 3 miles last night. I wasn't going to ha , but I stepped on the scale this morning. Lost 4 lbs already.
Yesterday I ate a fairly large salad with all the 'good' toppings.
Last night, my wife made a wonderful pork roast and I gobbled that up. I did have some squash last night, but only minimal,as I know it does have a few carbs, but not enough to take me over my limit. I also had a couple bites of a salad for dinner, but not very much. Had a celery snack late last night, and a couple pieces of cheese.
Everything is going well so far! No soda yet, and not desire to have it!

Great job tk! :icondance And congrats on your 4lbs weight loss! Woo Hoo!

I have all kinds of cravings for sweets today! :sadblinky I almost gave into them, but then I thought about how I have to cleanse my system of candida. I wouldn't want to feed it the sugar it needs to survive so that I might, in turn, just feel even worse! Other than that, I feel great! I'm starting to have even more energy than I did the first couple of times I did induction! I have been taking 200mg of CoQ10 and 1000mg of chromium picolinate. I think these 2 play a huge role in my new-found energy, plus the fact that the candida is probably dying out. I still feel extremely sleepy, at times, but I think that is because of the problem with my blood platelets (at least, that is what my doctor told me). I still feel great, despite all that!

I'm also tempted on stepping on the scale. I want to step on it after a couple of weeks so that I can be even more surprised at how much I've lost...well, at least I HOPE that it will be a pleasant surprise! lol

Had a celery snack late last night, and a couple pieces of cheese.

Good to see you're getting in your veggies! And even better that you are leaving the sodas alone! :joy

            Still going...

:clapping Give yourself a hand for restraining from the sweets! When I went away from Atkins for a while, I went right back to my sweet tooth, but have since not had much of a desire.
I got plenty of water yesterday, ate pretty well, and the running is continuing. I am feeling great getting back into my running schedule. After the baby, I didn't run at all for about a month, being too tired at night. But now, when my wife and the kids go to bed, I hit the treadmill. What a stress reliever. :joy
I must be careful with the weekend coming up. We are having friends over to watch football and socialize. There will be alcohol and some pretty enticing snacks I imagine, but I'll have to get "my snacks" ready so as to not fall off the wagon.

                  Thanks for the praise, Sharni!

You're doing a great job, tk!

Well, my sweet cravings are gone today. Didn't have any cravings at all. I'm glad, because I was eyeballing my daughter's M&Ms the whole day yesterday! lol But, I knew I'd hate myself for giving in, so I didn't.

Today was a good day. I didn't have all those wild cravings like I did yesterday. I almost ended up eating too much and going over my daily caloric intake! But I am fine today. I don't know why that happened....

I have been officially doing my KISS WOE since today to starve out the candida in my system. No more extras in my diet for at least 6 weeks. I'm going to miss it, since the extras made everything taste so good! But, I can handle 6 weeks, as long as I am losing weight!

                  Have a great weekend!

                    TK!!! WHERE ARE YOU??? lol

I'm doing pretty good today. I must be full-force into ketosis, because I didn't want to finish my breakfast today! :yikes That's the first time that ever happened to me! I had about 5 bites of eggs with chicken breast and didn't want anymore. I wasn't even hungry when I started eating! I wasn't hungry until almost 6 hours later! So, I ate the rest of it for lunch. I had a chicken quarter with pureed tomatoe and onions to taste and a cup of broccoli.

I'm still avoiding the cheese, sweeteners and coffee. I did have another cup of decaf green tea, but that was only to help with the weight loss, since green tea is a great fat-burner. I try not to have it everyday and have only had 2 so far.

I went out for a nice, brisk walk today. On top of that, I had to carry 6 bags of 25kg wood bricks up 4 flights of stairs!!! So, count those as aerobic and weight training for today! lol

I hope that everyone is doing great...I hope to hear from the rest of you sometime!

                    Have a great weekend! :wave

I didn't have much time to check in yesterday. Was busy with some other stuff for the board. However, I did have a great day. I ended up having more cravings for sweets last night and managed to stay strong. I've never had this many cravings for sweets, but since I found out I have candida overgrowth, they are triggered more often! I don't eat any trigger foods, but my body is still craving it!

Today has been great so far. No cravings....yet! I hope I won't have any, but if I do, I will stay strong.

I'm here. On the weekends I don't check in much.
The weekend was tough, but I made it through. Couldn't get rid of the beast of Miller Lite. I had a few beers when we had company, but food wise, I did pretty good. I would love to stay out of the situations, but I think I prevailed.
Had lots of little weinies and meatballs on Saturday. Lots of water and of course, I had some bottles of Miller Lite.
I did run 5.5 miles this weekend, so I did try to sweat out the impurities.
I weighed in at 181 Saturday morning, but haven't dared get back on since. I'm trying to push down as much water as possible today, but I've been so busy running around to meetings here and there, I am struggling a bit. Have not had any real cravings to speak of. Have not had a pop yet!!! That was my goal! :yes
Chynna, I can't tell you how hard it is to pass on the M&Ms. My 2 year old loves these things and we have them in the house. I bought him a pack yesterday and didn't touch one. It's tough, but I know why I'm doing what I'm doing.
I'm sticking with this thing. I feel good, and I am seeing minimal results. Once I get below the 180 mark, I am a new person. It is such motivation with the holiday's approaching. To see everyone again and look like a new person.
                        Continue the good work!

Hi tk! :wave Great to see you back after the weekend. No need to explain about where you were. I can understand that you were relaxing this weekend.

About the cheat.... I know how it is to pass something up. Just look at me? I'm proof! lol This is already my 3rd time trying to stick to this WOE. I'm more than determined to make it work now! Even though you more than likely knocked yourself out of ketosis, you did not let this cheat start a nasty chain reaction by continuing to cheat. You realized your mistake and you got back up and back on track. In time, you tend to learn from the consequences of your mistake and you will be less susceptible to cheating again. You should be proud of yourself for not giving up!

Hey? Do we live in the same house?!?!?! lol I also have a 2yr old who's hooked on M&Ms!!!!! I never really ate M&Ms much before this WOE, but now I dream about them! lol ....and they were usually my trigger food :sadblinky

Ugh. It's that time again, when you get on the scale and don't see any results. This is what happened to me last time. The first week seems to go fine, then no results after that. I'm eating right, exercising, and getting tons of water. I was in ketosis pretty well the first week, but haven't checked since. Anything else I can do to get jump started again?
When Dr. Atkins said you normally see the most weight loss in the first few weeks, I don't think he was referring to me. If I recall, the first time I did this diet, I was on Induction for nearly 2 months. Yes, I got results, but that seems a little long, doesn't it?
